Take in the beautiful views of Northumberland countryside while enjoying the best in home cooked food including our wholesome children’s menu; all made using our very own meat and dairy products and the best quality

locally sourced ingredients. A fantastic family day out is guaranteed at Wheelbirks with play areas to suit all ages. Younger children can enjoy the excitement of an indoor pre-school play area, while older children can run safe and free in the orchard playing area, which is full of adventure and thrills.

🍦☀️ Ice cream season is officially here! ☀️🍦

Treat yourself to a scoop (or two!) of our delicious homemade Jersey ice cream, freshly made right here on the farm using milk from our lovely Jersey cows 🐄💛

With plenty of flavours to choose from, there’s something for everyone to enjoy! 😋

As this will be our final summer before we close our gates for good, we’d love to welcome you one last time and help make some special memories. ❤️

🙏🏻A huge thank you to everyone who donated to the charity through our donkey fundraising collection.

Thanks to your generosity, we have raised an amazing £170, which has now been donated to this wonderful charity. Brooke works tirelessly to help and support working donkeys, horses and mules in some of the world’s poorest communities, improving their welfare and the lives of the people who depend on them.

Our own donkeys, Hamish and Dougie, are incredibly lucky to enjoy a life of luxury, plenty of treats, and very little hard work! 🫏😂
Your donations will help give donkeys around the world the care and support they deserve.

💚 What a day! 🚜

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for Open Farm Sunday.
We were overwhelmed by the support, with a record-breaking 1,906 visitors coming through our gates and so many lovely comments throughout the day. 🙌🏻

While today was a fantastic celebration, it was also a bittersweet one.
As we prepare to close and retire this September, this was our final Open Farm Sunday and our last major event after 16 years of welcoming families to the farm.

Seeing so many of you enjoying the animals, the countryside and everything that makes Wheelbirks special reminded us just how lucky we've been to be part of this wonderful community.

Thank you for your support, loyalty and friendship over the years. We couldn't have wished for a more memorable send-off, and we'll treasure the memories of today for a very long time. ❤️

☀️️🚜🍦🌾IT'S HERE AT LAST!!!!
Open Farm Sunday 2026 has finally arrived!
All our preparations are done (or nearly!)and the Sun is trying to shine ☀️️
Our farm is looking at its best, animals and machinery are all spruced up and lots of helpers are on hand.
So please come and see us today, learn about farming, animals and the countryside and join in this great national event -this day is for all ages.
The Parlour is open all day and we are serving our delicious homemade meals and snacks 10am-4pm.
Don’t forget to visit our local food market stalls and there’s still a handful of places left for our llama walks & llama petting sessions with 🦙

🐮 We are VERY proud to farm ‘Ethically’ here at Wheelbirks.
Our calves are not separated from their Mums at 3 days old, which is the normal practice on 99% of dairy farms in the UK.

We only milk our small herd once a day, which allows calves (both young and older) to drink their Mother’s milk whenever they choose.
Since we changed our farming practice in 2020, we find our calves and cows are happier and healthier as well as living much longer!

All ages enjoy this popular activity! It’s £2.50. Cash preferred 🐣

Our friendly donkeys will also be in the farmyard this Sunday for our open farm day- come along to meet them and give them a stroke.
We will be collecting money for , for Horses & Donkeys who have much less fortunate lives than Hamish & Dougie 💙💚

We can’t wait to welcome you on Sunday 7th June for what will be our last ever Open Farm Day — and we’re determined to make it one to remember!

Alongside all the fantastic attractions, activities and farm fun happening throughout the day, we’re delighted to be joined by a small selection of wonderful local food producers, bringing along plenty of homemade treats for you to enjoy.

🍴 Grant’s Sausages – Famous for their delicious homemade plain and flavoured sausages, plus their new award-winning cheese range.
🍫 The Travelling Spoon -Back by popular demand with their irresistible homemade brownies and a tempting selection of cakes.
