🧁 200 cupcakes. 1 baker. Questionable life choices. 😅

Corporate orders always hit a little differently. They're bigger, more detailed, and definitely keep me on my toes!

This order included 200 cupcakes, each topped with an edible company logo. Just printing, cutting and placing the toppers onto fondant took over 2 hours before baking/ decorating even began. Add another 6 cake orders to the mix, and let's just say it was a busy day! 🤪

Was it worth it? Absolutely. Seeing the finished display made every minute worthwhile. ✨

I thought I'd share my birthday cakes with you all this year... because apparently turning 30 requires more than one cake! 😅🎂

One is a very unique creation by my mum. She's well known in the family for her "creative improvisation" in the kitchen, so I'm fairly confident this recipe will never be replicated again.🫢 In any case, I had two slices, which is saying something because those who know me know I rarely eat cake myself... ironic for a cake maker, I know!🥴

Then a beautiful Medovik number cake baked by my mother-in-law. Let's be honest, I couldn't turn 30 without a number cake. 🎂✨

My friends also surprised me with a chocolate cake. Now, I'm not usually a chocolate cake fan, but this one was so good that I may have had a second slice of that too. 👀

So there you have it... three birthday cakes for my 30th birthday. Not a bad effort for someone who claims not to like cake... despite making them for a living! 😆🎂🎉

🌎 Of course I brought one of my cake jars to the other side of the world with me! 😆

I’m celebrating my 30th birthday whilst away, and although travelling with a birthday cake wasn’t exactly practical, a cake jar made the journey just fine. 🧁✈️

As I turn 30, I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported my small business over the years. Running a business isn’t always sunshine and rainbows, but your kind messages, feedback and repeat orders make it all worthwhile. ❤️

I’ve made countless 30th birthday cakes for others, but this year I decided to give myself something different and take some time off instead.

And before anyone worries that a cake maker didn’t have a birthday cake for her own 30th... don’t worry! My family and friends had that covered. I’ve already celebrated early and somehow ended up with three surprise birthday cakes! 🎂🎂🎂

As every small business owner knows, you're never completely switched off, so I'll still be replying to messages and sorting orders while enjoying some sunshine. If you know me, you'll know I'm not a fan of plain cakes. Give me bright colours, fun designs and something that really stands out, and I'm happy! 🌈

That's probably why I love making children's birthday cakes so much — they're usually packed with colour and personality, just like this one! 💙💚💛❤️

🍰 Story time: how I made a cake from scratch in under 2 hours... 😅

Saturday morning was going suspiciously well. All orders decorated and finished before 9am. Feeling organised for once.

Then at 9:30am, a message came in:
"Any chance you can make a cake for tomorrow?"

I don't work Sundays, so naturally I did the sensible thing and gave myself a ridiculous challenge.

"Yep, it'll be ready by 12."

Sponge baked. Cooled. Filled. Rested. Decorated. (Having leftover buttercream from other orders definitely saved the day! 🙌)

By 11:17am, the cake was already being photographed.

If you're not a baker, that might not sound impressive. If you are a baker, you're probably sweating just reading this. 😂

So when I say you're welcome to message me for last-minute cakes... I genuinely mean it!

I can't always work miracles, but it's always worth asking. Drop me a message on WhatsApp or social media and I'll do my best to help—even if it's a very last-minute cake. 🎂✨

🎀 It might be the colours talking... but I loved this cake. 🤭💕

There's just something about a Minnie Mouse first birthday cake that never goes out of style. Cute, timeless, pink, and guaranteed to make everyone say "aww" before they ask for a slice. 🥹🍰

Some themes come and go, but Minnie always seems to survive every trend and still look perfect for a little girl's first birthday.
