As a hospitality operator, this campaign means a lot to us. Every day we work hard to create jobs, support local suppliers and provide a place where our community can come together. Despite paying significant amounts in VAT and other taxes each year, the challenges facing small pubs, restaurants and cafés continue to grow.
We are not asking for special treatment—we are asking for a fair chance to survive. A 10% VAT rate would help protect jobs, keep independent businesses open and preserve the community hubs that so many people rely on.
If we don’t act now, many of these businesses may not be here tomorrow. That’s why I proudly support the VAT’s The Problem campaign. Hospitality matters. Communities matter. It’s time for the Government to listen and take action before it’s too late.
