I have run the pub very hands-on for nearly eight years now and have reached the point where I am looking to build a stronger and more independent team. For several years I have not had a single Saturday away from the business, let alone a holiday. While I accept that running a business requires sacrifice, continuing on this trajectory is not sustainable and I will eventually end up burning myself out.

It is time for the business to evolve so that it no longer depends on any one person. I am therefore looking for committed staff members who can take genuine ownership of their role within the business, accept increasing responsibility, and grow into trusted members of the team.

I am not looking to disappear from the business. I will remain as actively involved as before, but my aim is to do so as part of a capable team, rather than continuing to carry the weight of every part of the operation alone.
