She is powered by a four-cylinder Vetus marine diesel engine with Hurth HBW100 gearbox. Layout from the rear comprises of a spacious double bedroom with compact dressing table and full height wardrobe. Forward of this is the bathroom with hip bath and shower over, Porta Potti toilet and vanity basin. Next comes the galley with stainless steel sink/drainer, Vanette gas hob and separate eye level gas grill/oven unit. At the front of the cabin is the saloon with Morso Squirrel solid fuel stove, TV cabinet and ample space for two easy chairs or indeed a sofa bed to convert this into a 4-berth boat. REF 10621 - Helen. 51 foot tug style narrow boat. £54,995.00.

Helen is a 51 foot tug style narrow boat which was built by Harris Brothers of Bumblehole in Netherton in the West Midlands in 1942 for Joseph Holloway and Sons of Oldbury later passing to Leonard Leigh and used for towing trains of joey boats from the Cannock coalfields to the Power Stations and elsewhere in the Black Country. Helen is powered by a Bolinder 1053 marine diesel engine with Bolinder’s reversing gearbox. The engine develops 35bhp and drives a 24” propeller. Layout from the rear comprises of a traditionally decorated back cabin with Epping range. Following this is the engine room housing not only the engine but the electric control system for the rest of the boat. Forward of this is the shower room with large shower, boxed in Porta Potti toilet and wash basin. Doors lead into the galley with butler sink, gas hob/grill/oven and 12v fridge. At the front of the cabin is the saloon with Morso Squirrel solid fuel stove. The seating/steps convert to a second double berth. This boat is steeped in history and a full and detailed history can be provided upon request. Recent survey completed in 2026. Current Boat Safety Certificate until May 2028. Full repaint of both the topsides and hull recently completed. Helen is a real head-turner and with her history is a talking point for canal enthusiasts and gongoozlers alike.

Siena is a 60ft 6in traditional stern narrow boat built by Jonathan Wilson of Sheffield in 2003 and subsequently fitted out by Classic Narrow boat in Wheelton. She is powered by a 1958 Gardner 2LW with PRM260 gearbox. Layout from entering at the front comprises of an open plan saloon with Morso Squirrel stove (new in 2024), small television and radio, two leather Captain’s chairs with footstools and a drop-down table and bench seat. Following on from this is a the galley with Vanette gas cooker and hob, under counter LEC 12v fridge, stainless steel sink/drainer and ample storage. The bedroom follows on from this with a 4ft 6in double bed with ample storage underneath, overhead cupboard and full-length wardrobe. The bathroom comprises of a vanity basin, Thetford cassette toilet, a full height shower with glass door and storage area. Next is the heart of the boat housing the Gardner engine which heats the water via a calorifier in a walk-through engine room. This also houses a Kabola boiler which heats the radiators and hot water via a separate calorifier. Following on is a traditional boatman’s cabin with an Epping range, cross bed and storage cupboards. Solid wood flooring has been used throughout, with tongue and groove Burmese Teak used forward of the engine room. There are two solar panels and a small inverter. Siena was commissioned by the current owners who will be parting with her after many happy years of boating. Hull blacked and four new anodes fitted in April 2026. Engine serviced in June 2026. Boat Safety Certificate expires October 2028.

Following this is the main bathroom with Mansfield Traveller pump out toilet, washbasin and hip bath with shower over. Next comes the L shaped dinette which converts into a second double bed. The galley follows with stainless steel sink/drainer, 12v fridge and Caprice gas cooker. At the front of the cabin is a second twin bed cabin making her an eight-berth boat. Stardance has a Victron (12v/1600w/70amp) inverter charger. Heating is provided throughout by a new generation Alde gas boiler.
