Good morning, everyone! I hope you all had a good weekend and have a good week planned.
Today is the last day of week 15 for us at the cafe and, as always, we’ll be shut on Tuesday and Wednesday to allow us to recharge.
Here are the specials that we have planned for you today:
—-
Soup of the Day: The Highland Creamery Stew
A comforting blend of tender potatoes, fresh broccoli, sweet carrots, onions and celery, gently simmered in a rich, creamy cheddar broth. Crafted with simple ingredients and slow-cooked flavour, this hearty vegetable stew is warming, satisfying and perfect for a Highland day. A bowl of pure comfort—creamy, wholesome and reminiscent of home-cooked meals shared around the kitchen table.
Contains: CELERY and MILK.
Sandwich of the Day: The Glen Roy Tuna Melt
A comforting café classic made with flaky tuna, crisp celery, sweet onion, fresh parsley and a touch of garlic, blended in a creamy dressing with a splash of balsamic for extra depth. Layered with a generous mix of sharp cheddar and mozzarella, then toasted on ciabatta until golden and perfectly crisp. Warm, cheesy and satisfying, it’s the kind of hearty lunch that’s best enjoyed with a bowl of homemade soup.
Contains: CELERY, EGG, FISH, MILK and WHEAT (GLUTEN).

Worth mentioning - yesterday was our first time operating with a limited menu due to staff shortages/illness but it went well. Out of an abundance of caution (trying to avoid the two of us getting swamped), we opted to only serve soft drinks, sandwiches, and baked goods and left the “Closed” signs up but, moving forward, we’ll almost certainly re-introduce hot drinks on these days. All in all, it was a good “experiment” and thank you for indulging us!
Have a good week, everyone, and we’ll see you on Thursday!
