We will be open from 12pm on this coming Sunday 18th before bank holiday and The Queens Funeral. As a mark of our own tribute we will be offering all customers a dram of whisky on the house to pay respect and a tribute to the Queen and to celebrate her life and service. Hopefully you can join us... From my own experience I remember the Queen opening The Halifax Head office in 1974, I watched from a shop window on the corner by the ABC Cinema. I also remember the Queens Silver Jubilee in 1977 and getting a royal mug. My own personal favourite is working on board on the QE2 in 1990 and to celebrate Cunard's 150yrs, The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh sailed passed on the Royal Yacht Britannia, then there was a flypast by Concorde, & Harrier jump jets, Lynx and Sea King helicopters. She then boarded our ship, It was the first time a Monarch had sailed on another ship other than The Royal Yacht having launched the QE2 23yrs ago. She had lunch that day in the Queens Grill which I was truly lucky enough to have been part of. Some of us have only ever known the Queen during our lifetime and somehow it feels like a family member has passed. Why don't you share your stories of maybe meeting or seeing the Queen wherever you might have been...
