Evening everyone,

One of our customers who visited us today has lost a very sentimental piece of jewellery while out and about in Chalkwell. It’s a silver infinity necklace.
Unfortunately we haven’t found it at the cafe, so we wondered if anyone has come across it and if so would be very grateful if you could get in touch.

Please share the post in the hope someone has spotted it and we can return it to our customer.

Small seaside cafe looking for new staff member.
3/4 days a week, one day must be either Saturday or Sunday. The rest spread through the week (flexible on the other days). 9am-4pm/5pm depending on the season.
Job role includes : making toasties and sandwiches, smoothies and milkshakes, all types of barista style coffees, ordering stock, keeping the business running day to day.
MUST have previous experience in all of the above. Food hygiene certificate level 2/3 an advantage but not required.
Must be confident working on your own.
Location- Chalkwell beach, at the bottom of Chalkwell ave.

Small seaside cafe looking for new staff members.
One full time, one part time- kitchen/cafe assistant.
Monday-Friday (winter hours 9-3, summer hours 9-5)

And Saturday and Sunday same hours as above.
Job roles include : making toasties and sandwiches, smoothies and milkshakes, all types of barista style coffees, ordering stock, keeping the business running day to day.
MUST have previous experience in all of the above. Food hygiene certificate level 2/3 an advantage but not required.
Own transport may be necessary as location doesn’t have great public transport.
Location- Chalkwell beach, at the bottom of Chalkwell ave.

(We are also seeking staff for weekends just taking orders, refilling stock and making coffees, kitchen experience not required for that role).

💩❌🌊 SEVERE SEWAGE WARNING FOR SOUTHEND BEACHES 💩❌🌊

I’m sad to report that three beaches are currently declared no-swim zones due to storm sewerage release into the sea. Affected beaches are Jubilee beach, Thorpe beach, and Shoebury Common beach.

Having this release in the height of summer in a city that relies on its seafront tourism is appalling. We also have TWO Sites of Special Scientific Interest along our coastline, and the impact on precious wildlife like our wading birds and sea grasses is profound.

So I’m calling on Anglian Water to urgently explain this and to outline what plans they have in place to halt future events, and invest in our sewerage system so that our precious coastline is kept clean and respected.

Sunday, Monday and Tuesday we will be open until at least 7pm serving drinks, ice creams and beach toys.

The tide times for the next 3 day heatwave are as follows:

Sunday: low tide 10am - high tide 4pm
Monday: low tide 11am - high tide 5pm
Tuesday: low tide 11.30am - high tide 5.45pm.

Don’t forget your sunscreen! However if you do, we do sell some, as well as parasols, windbreakers, beach shoes, inflatables etc..
