Summer in South Shields is a musical extravaganza. This weekend, you can choose from:
Paula and the Protons in the South Marine Park on Saturday from 14:00-16:00.
ABC, joined by Chesney Hawkes and Nuromantica in the Bents Park on Sunday from 12:00-17:00
If brass bands are more your thing, the Bright Street Big Band are playing at the amphitheatre from 15:30-17:30, also on Sunday.
Whichever event you choose, the Marine isn't far away for drinks afterwards.

It is a well-known fact among beer geeks that the Bass triangle is the oldest trade mark in the world. There is an apocryphal story that a Bass employee camped out overnight on new year's eve 1875 in order to register the trademark on new year's day 1876.
The original brewery was founded in 1777 in Burton-on-Trent and Bass is still brewed there to this day (albeit, under licence by Marstons). The brewery is currently owned by Anheuser-Busch InBev.

Bass is one of our most popular beers with people from all over delighted to find it on permanent sale in the pub (always in excellent condition, even if I say so myself). Give it a try next time you're in - it is still popular nearly 250 years on for a reason.
