🏴☠️ A MESSAGE FROM THE PIRATES 🏴☠️
After 15 incredible years, it’s time for us to lower the sails for the final time.
This is, without doubt, one of the hardest messages we’ve ever had to write.
When we opened our doors, we had a dream, a lot of hard work, and a little pirate madness. We never imagined how many lives would become part of our story.
Over the years we’ve celebrated weddings, engagements, hen nights, birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas parties, family gatherings, and countless special moments. We’ve watched first dates become marriages, children grow up, and families return year after year.
Many people see a restaurant. We see fifteen years of our lives.
Every corner, every decoration, our kid`s corner, every picture frame— every small detail— was created with love by our own hands. This place was never just a business. It became part of our family, and in many ways, we grew up here too.
Some of our happiest memories are of the thousands of "little pirates" who walked through our doors. Watching children explore with wide eyes, celebrate birthdays, play snakes & ladders, and make memories with their families has been one of the greatest privileges of our lives.
The truth is, closing hurts more than words can express.
As a small, family-run business, keeping a hospitality venue healthy and sustainable has become incredibly challenging. Running costs, utility bills, and supplier prices have risen sharply, making it difficult to keep our menu fair and affordable for everyone. In Skipton, there’s a wonderful but busy dining scene; increased competition spreads the footfall of potential customers across many great places, which has made trading tougher for us. And like so many in hospitality, the mental and physical strain of giving our all, day after day, has taken a toll. We’ve faced these headwinds as long as we could, but together they’ve brought us to this decision.
For fifteen years, we poured our hearts, energy, creativity — and often every spare minute — into this place. We celebrated successes here, faced challenges here, laughed here, cried here, and built friendships that will stay with us forever.
While this chapter is ending, the memories remain.
Our final day of service will be Sunday the 7th June. It will be the very last chance for families and kids to enjoy our well‑known atmosphere, lovely cocktails and freshly prepared signature dishes. If you still have a valid gift card, please feel free to use it by our last day; if you can’t, call us directly and we’ll do our best to help.
To every customer who walked through our doors, every family who celebrated with us, every fantastic staff member over the years, supplier, friend, and supporter — Thank you.
You gave life to this place.
Although our ship is reaching its final harbour, the memories we created together will sail on forever.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for allowing us to be part of your lives for the last 15 years.
