Worthing based improv band Kitóg and the Treats are an ever changing loose collective gathered by local percussionist Sean Quinn.

Playing improvised music with strong percussive elements and a broad confection of influences, Kitóg bring tasty groove based flavours infused with afro, latin, jazz and more.

Musicians hailing from Nigeria, Ghana, Sicily, Venezuela, Ireland and the UK throw their hats into the ring to cook up unique vibes that go wherever the night leads.

GOGOVILLE" is an upbeat blues and Jazz crossover quintet, consisting of experienced musicians from the south coast area. (Guit/Vocals - Saxophone - Keys/Vocals - Bass - Drums).

Expect some tasty Groovy, jazzy Bluesy tunes from the repertoire of the like of T Bone Walker, Albert King, Albert Collins for the blues, Herbie Hancock, Grant Green, Dizzy Gillespie to name a few for the jazzy and groovy beat, and some Latin and Gypsie jazz tune.

The Wellington Wailers

Captain Mike Green leads the sixteen strong Sea Shanty Crew, in work shanties, songs of the sea and tales of ‘Derring do’ upon the historic oceans.

They have developed a well-deserved reputation for singing rousing harmonious songs and have become regulars at many Sussex venues, the International Sea Shanty Festival in Falmouth and frequently appear in front of “Seasalt” clothing shops on days of celebration.

Their first cd “High Tides and Low Life” was recorded in Shoreham Lifeboat Station on the stern of the Shoreham Lifeboat “Enid Colette”. It’s been featured on the Mark Radcliffe Folk show on BBC Radio 2, and sales of the cd (and fund raising) have raised many thousands of pounds for the local RNLI.

So, expect sing-along shanties, songs of loves and lives lost, of hard work and poor food, of women and drink, horrible voyages and safe harbours. Stirring music to enjoy sampling the many fine beers on sale at the Duke of Wellington.

A Horse for Reuben

7.15 pm - 8.40 pm (NB an earlier start and finish due to the England World Cup game at 9 pm)

Our very own barman, minstrel and intrepid explorer chappie, Reuben, is off to Kyrgyzstan to smoke his pipe and grow a moustache.

He'll obviously need transport while out there.

As a consequence we're showcasing his musical talent, with support from other local musicians, in a bid to give him some extra pocket money to hire a suitable steed.

Meet the Author - with a suitable fanfare from the Wellington Wailers

June 18th - 7.30 pm

The book is a follow up to a children's rhyme book (Gertie the Mermaid’s Birthday Adventure) published in 2021 which features a mermaid who explores up the river Adur as far as the houseboats then gets chased back out to sea where she's captured by fishermen. Luckily for Gertie one of the fishermen lets her go. The other two are totally p****d off because apparently a live mermaid is worth a fortune 😱

This book is aimed at a confident older reader or an adult who enjoys a bit of magical realism. It starts on the same day that the first book ends. The fisherman who let the mermaid go gets given the sack. He's an 18 year old who lives on a houseboat with his widowed mother and little sister. Turns out that he's part of a family with a rare gift: they can hear the mer-folk speak via telepathy.
