Hi everyone.

After a couple of weeks of soul searching it’s time to confirm the rumours.

La Rue has now closed down.

As you can imagine this has been a very hard step to take.

Despite being a part in the growth of Saltaire it’s time to let go.

Up until 3 years ago things were going nicely but since then it’s been a struggle for me professionally and personally.

The bottom line is I cannot continue to keep a business going given everything that’s been stacked against it. I literally don’t have the energy for the fight.

I would like to think La Rue will be missed. I know that I will miss it.

I have poured 30 years of my life into a passion that has seen many ups and downs.

It has reinvented itself on several occasions.The proudest achievement was expanding from a 45 seater restaurant to a 90 cover restaurant in 2002 and filling it.

I will miss the friendships made with you, the kindness, the encouragement and the support, especially during covid where I met many of you on your doorsteps to deliver take outs.

That was special….

In short…La Rue would not have succeeded without you and I am forever grateful.

I would also like to thank each and every person that worked with me,
whether that was to carry a plate, serve a drink, or cook a meal.

We had a bloody good time doing it.

Lastly I would like to thank my family for everything.They have been the ones who have had to endure the ups and downs.

Without that support I could not have done any of it.
