Enjoy these photographs from the first Royal Bath & West Show held at our permanent Showground in Shepton Mallet 📷🕰️

The 1965 Show marked a significant milestone in the Show’s history, becoming the first to be held at its new permanent home after more than 100 years of travelling around the region. The inaugural Show at the Showground welcomed an impressive 60,000 visitors, a figure that would steadily grow over the years.

We were delighted to welcome the Founder & Chef at Big Nath’s BBQ, Nathan Ritchie, back into the Great British Kitchen at this year’s Royal Bath & West Show 🍴🍖

Big Nath demonstrated how to make his BBQ Chicken Thigh Burgers with Smoky Slaw and it’s safe to say that it went down a treat in the kitchen! Why not have a go at making them yourself?

Our second Field to Food Learning Day takes place on 21 October, and we're urgently looking for volunteers to guide school groups around the event.

Volunteers are essential to the day's success so we're particularly keen to hear from businesses looking to offer staff a meaningful volunteering day. It's a chance to step away from the desk, support local education, and help children learn where their food comes from.

A well-deserved honour for Mark Coreth

Whilst Mark has stepped down from his duties as Chief Steward of Art, we are delighted to announce he will serve as a Vice President for the Society.

As Rupert Uloth remarked, 'Mark has been an outstanding Chief Steward of Art. He introduced Artists in Action so that the public could see artists at work and ensured that the art pavilion was always full of work by excellent local talent. His cheeriness and positivity were hallmarks of his contribution to the main Show and to the Society and he well deserves the accolade of Vice President'.

His dedication, enthusiasm and unwavering positivity have left a lasting mark on both the Art Pavilion and the Society as a whole. We'd like to thank Mark for his continued dedication and congratulate him on this much-deserved appointment.
