🌟 BIG NEW GAMES RELEASE: Carcassonne Labyrinth is in the building 🙌

This awesome mash-up combines the 80s family favourite sliding maze game Labyrinth with the classic tile placement game Carcassonne, to create something new and really cool 🤩

In Carcassonne Labyrinth, you're building your own medieval landscape, as per Carcassonne, but to gain tiles to do this, you need to slide a row on the central Labyrinth-style board to eject the one you want 🏰

At the same time, you're also trying to scoot your meeple along the pathways on the central board to collect special items, which give you bonus tiles to add to your landscape 🏆

This is a great example of a game with simple rules but lots to think about, and we think it works really well 👌 Come and give it a try in our library now and see if you agree!

🌘☄️ This is set to be one of the most exciting days in a long time for astronomy fans, with the best view of a solar eclipse since 1999 this evening, and the Perseid meteor shower peaking tonight 🤩

Today though, it’s going to be boiling, so why not get ready for tonight’s excitement by playing a cool space game indoors while enjoying our air conditioning? ❄️

💡 Short of ideas for the weekend? We can help!

✨ New month, new games 🤩

We spent our day closed yesterday getting a nice little stack of shiny new titles into our library, so these are all ready for you to come and try out 😁

🛟 Tenby is a new card game about building a charming Welsh seaside town, which has been getting rave reviews
🦒 Botswana is a recent remake of a simple Reiner Knizia classic, with his usual ingenious mix of simple rules creating interesting decisions, plus a whole lot of lovely wooden animals 💕
🦚 Fetching Feathers is a small-box card game with plenty of depth about trying to attract nattily dressed bird life to your reserve

There are several more in this latest drop too, including Awesome Foursome, a fab new release from gamelygames which is perfect for those who love Herd Mentality but are ready to mix it up a bit 🐄

We’ve currently got plenty of space every day this week, and the weather looks a little less settled, so why not come and see us for some fun around a table?

🚲 It’s been great to see so many folks (both staff and customers) taking advantage of the summer weather and cycling to The Treehouse recently 💚

We’re lucky to be nice and easy to reach by bike, (especially by Sheffield standards!) being at the bottom of all the major hills, and close to the underpass by Decathlon which connects you to the city centre cycle path network.

If you’re thinking of trying this for the first time, there’s plenty of bike parking just across the road at New Era Square, which I’ve always found to be hassle-free having used it regularly for a while. If the weather’s looking a little iffy, there’s also covered bike parking nearby at Aldi.

Why not try a new mode of transport next time you visit?

Happy Tramlines weekend folks 🎉 It’s looking like a pretty quiet one for us, for reasons we do understand 😅

If you’re not in a ‘sitting indoors playing board games’ kind of mood this weekend, don’t forget that we are also a games shop, packed full of fun small boxes perfect for playing on your holidays or on a blanket in the park 🏖️🎲

🤞 Flip 7 is a push-your-luck card game which has been a huge hit at the Treehouse over the last year or so. Accessible, nail-biting fun for 3 - 8 players.

🐶 Awesome Foursome is a brand new release which you should definitely try if you love Herd Mentality. Great fun for groups of 3 or more players.

🐐 Mountain Goats is a classic, simple strategy game of combining dice rolls to get your team of goats to the top of some mountains, suitable for 2 - 4 players

🥓 Barbecubes is an adorable dexterity game about trying to perfectly load a tiny barbecue with even tinier foods. Perfect for 2 - 5 players.

💭 Thing Thing is a delightfully silly word game about trying to group things into categories, and then justifying your reasoning. Relaxed fun for 3 - 10 players.

🐈🐈‍⬛ NEW GAME 🤩 Stack O’ Cats is a super-cute and tactile dexterity game about - you guess it - stacking cats!

The rules for this one could not be simpler, but there’s a lot of catisfaction (sorry) to be had here, especially because the extra stable base lets you get quite creative with your cat placement 🐱👌

This has landed just in time for the school holidays, and we’re sure it’ll see lots of action over the next few weeks. Why not stop by and give it a try? There are copies to take home in our shop too, while stocks last 🛍️
