Dating back to 1773, Fox House was named after Mr Fox of Callow Farm and proved a popular spot for livestock drivers and stagecoach passengers. The large dining area was originally known as The Duke’s Room as the Duke of Rutland often frequented the pub. After a bite to eat with us, why not make a day of it and discover the rambler’s paradise beyond our walls around Longshaw Estate. Or, you could extend your visit even longer with a night in the Fox House Innkeepers Lodge, a charming B&B located opposite the pub.
