⚡🎸 WEDNESDAY ELECTRIC JAM NIGHT 🎸⚡
It's Wednesday, which means it's time for Sheffield's least organised collection of musicians to once again pretend this is all part of the plan. 🎶🍻
Leading the charge is Simon Lord – guitar hero, jam night veteran, and a man who knows approximately 4,000 songs... yet will still ask, "What key are we doing this in?" five seconds before the count-in. Fuelled almost exclusively by Guinness, it's rumoured the black stuff is the secret behind his seemingly endless catalogue of songs. 🍺🎸🤔
Keeping everyone in time is Simon Freeston, the human metronome. Nobody knows if he actually has a heartbeat or if it's just a perfectly timed kick drum pattern. 🥁⏱️
Holding down the low end is Callum Hodson. Bass player, vocalist, and the only man capable of carrying an entire song whilst looking like he's just remembered he left the oven on. 🎤🎸🔥
Then we have Andrew Winks, our keyboard maestro from a time before keyboards were even invented. It's believed he gave Beethoven a few pointers and taught Mozart how to properly use sustain. 🎹🎼
Andrew Barber will also be making an appearance. Officially the sexiest man alive. Unofficially, if you see him with a pint of Carling in hand, you know business is about to pick up. The man moves through the pub with the confidence of someone who's never had to queue at the bar. 🍺😎
And finally, James Anderson... also known as Jenson's stunt double. Young enough to carry the gear, old enough to complain about "music these days." Experts remain divided on whether he's a young man with an old soul, or a retired bloke who's somehow blagged his way back into his twenties. 🎸👴➡️🧑
Of course, none of this musical chaos would sound half as good without Tony Hancock, our long-suffering sound engineer. 🎚️🔊
Tony works tirelessly behind the desk, balancing levels, fighting feedback, and performing miracles on a weekly basis. In fact, he can even make Marley Dymond sound alright...
..sometimes.
To be fair, even Tony has his limits. 😂🎤
And the biggest mystery of the evening...
🌴✈️ Will Jenson Whitham be back from his lads' Ibiza trip? ✈️🌴
Has he returned with his dignity intact? Has he somehow acquired another Hawaiian shirt? Has he spent more time practising guitar or perfecting his poolside posing ready for the next season of Love Island.
Only one way to find out...
👀 Find out tonight!
Expect classic rock, unexpected bangers, questionable key changes, and the occasional train wreck that somehow becomes the highlight of the night.
