Hey folks 👋🏻

It’s been a while since we last connected, and we’ve been overwhelmed with your requests for the beloved recipes from Tigs. We’re happy to announce that we’ve finally compiled an e-book collection of our most cherished dishes-from our signature bagels to our comforting mac and cheese, and even our heartwarming soups and bakes.

In these challenging times, we’ve found a meaningful way to share these treasures with you. We’re launching a recipe collection for a cause that’s close to our hearts. The ongoing crisis in Palestine has resulted in unimaginable suffering, and there’s a dire need for aid. Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) is on the ground, providing indispensable support to those affected. By accessing our recipes with a donation, you’re not just bringing a piece of Tigs into your home; you’re also extending a helping hand to those in urgent need. We encourage those who can to generously exceed the minimum donation.

The world feels particularly daunting right now, and we hope you’re taking care of yourselves amidst the turmoil. Let’s continue to stand together-whether it’s through protesting, reaching out to MPs, advocating through social media, or supporting boycotts. It’s also crucial to extend understanding and support to those in our communities who are unfairly facing increased scrutiny and challenges.

The penultimate morning coffee ☕️ it’s our last full day here at Tigs, we have bagels, French toast, hash browns, cakes and brews. Big thanks to all our fab suppliers and patrons over the years, it’s been a blast. Come get your last Tigs fix 🫶

Thanks so much for all the kind messages over the last few weeks, it’s been lovely to know how much positivity Tigs has brought people 🥲 We’re both just enjoying the last few weeks of this chapter and looking forward to next 🫶

Our last full trading day with be the 11th of November (9-4) and we will close on the 12th of November, running a limited service (11-3)

We have also had a lot of interest in our vintage coffee cups, so on the Sunday we will be selling off a selection of these on the day ☕️

With heavy hearts, we are closing our doors permanently at both sites, with Abbeydale closing first and campo lane shortly after.

It’s been an incredible few years serving you lovely folks, we are so lucky to have had such kind & generous regulars, people who made ours days that little bit brighter, and of course the great friends made along the way.

With the highs comes the lows, we feel we have become so resilient and determined to tackle anything thrown our way, we feel this may have come at a personal detriment. Unfortunately there are certain things out of our control - a large factor of our closure is health, within a year of opening Tupelo was diagnosed with a neuroimmunological condition which has been incredibly hard to juggle alongside running a business, that then became two businesses. This has left us both incredibly burnt out, needing a reset and rest.

We also couldn’t not mention ✨money✨ we certainly aren’t alone in the constant struggle adjusting to ever-rising costs and moving of goal posts. It’s been a rough period for many in our industry, we are grateful for your continued support that has allowed us to move through these times. We know you’ll continue to support all the other great indies this city has to offer, because they won’t exist without you.

So with all that in mind, we are letting go of feelings of failure or giving up, and focusing on choosing what’s right for us as two human beings. Life is short and not always guaranteed, something we have both had to face head on recently.

We are so grateful and humbled by all the love and support we have had from near strangers, regulars and staff over the years, I hope in the way you have made our journey a good one we have also impacted yours kindly too.

Last trading day at campo will be sometime in November, TBC.

Return of the mac 🧀 it’s not back on the menu (sorry) but we know it’s a fan fave so we will be running a changing mac & cheese special through the winter months.
Starting with the K.F.C (Korean fried chick’n)

Gochujang mac n cheeze, topped with a crispy chicken patty tossed in a maple and gochujang sauce, spring onions & sesame seeds - served with garlic bread & kimchi jam
