⚽️🏆 WORLD CUP 2026 – TICKET UPDATE 🏆⚽️

We just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has already secured their tickets for England’s World Cup opener at The Shawside! 🍻

To say we’re grateful would be an understatement. We have been completely overwhelmed by the response so far, and it’s incredible to see so many people getting behind what promises to be a fantastic evening.

As many of you know, ticket sales help us plan staffing levels, seating areas and facilities to ensure everyone has the best possible experience on the night.

🎟️ Please note that ticket sales will close at 12:00 mid-day tomorrow.

If you’re planning on joining us, we strongly recommend purchasing your tickets before then to avoid disappointment.

From the giant outdoor screen and multiple indoor HD screens, to great food, cold drinks and what we hope will be an unforgettable England atmosphere, we’re genuinely excited to welcome you all through the doors.

Sorry to damper the mood but it must be said…

A generic line of “here’s to another 6 years” would follow but under the current climate we doubt that is possible.

We’ve kept quiet on our struggles with subtle reposts from big names within hospitality. Big independent figures who articulate the struggles a lot better than we can and fundamentally carry a bigger voice/audience than we do.

We don’t want this post to be a negative post as we are super proud to still be standing after so many years. We’ve said it many times but we are incredibly humbled by the amount of support you show us week in week out.

Shout out to the Curio teams across both sites who continue to work hard, develop and make Curio better! 👊🏽

⚽ WORLD CUP 2026 – ENGLAND OPENER FAQ’S ⚽

We’ve had lots of messages about Wednesday’s big game, so we’ve put together a few answers to our most frequently asked questions. If there’s anything we’ve missed, just drop us a message! 🍻🏆

🕛 What time do the doors open?
We’ll be open as normal from 12:00pm, so feel free to come down early and soak up the atmosphere.

🎱 Will the Pool & Snooker Hall be open as usual?
Yes! Our Pool & Snooker Hall will be open as normal. Please note, however, that the England game will not be shown in the pool hall.

🎟️ Do I need a ticket? Can I pay on the door?
Our aim is to make the event safe, comfortable and enjoyable for everyone. Ticket sales help us manage capacity and staffing levels. If we don’t sell out, a limited number of tickets may be available on the door, but we can’t guarantee availability. Please note that the welcome drink is only included with pre-purchased tickets.

🍺 Can I leave and come back later?
Unfortunately not. Once you leave the venue, re-entry will not be permitted as this is a ticketed event.

🪑 Can I reserve a table?
Sorry, we won’t be taking table reservations. All seating and tables will be available on a first come, first served basis, so we recommend arriving early to grab the best spot.

🍕 Is food available?
Absolutely! We’ll have the Pop Up Pizza Project on site serving freshly made stone-baked pizzas, loaded fries and more. Food will be served from 5:00pm until 10:00pm.

🥤 Can I bring my own food or drink?
No, unfortunately outside food and drinks are not permitted.

👨‍👩‍👧 Can children or under 16s attend the England opener?
Unfortunately not. Following guidance from our local licensing authority and the conditions of our premises licence, under 16s cannot remain in our main bar areas after 9:30pm.

🚗 Is there parking available?
We do have on-site parking, but spaces will be limited for the England games as we’ll be extending our outdoor screening area. If possible, please consider walking, using public transport or car sharing. If you do drive, please park responsibly and be mindful of our neighbours, especially regarding noise when leaving the venue.

❓Can I leave and re-enter the venue?
Unfortunately not. As this is a ticketed event, re-entry will not be permitted once you have left the venue.

Sorry all, we aren’t ignoring you.

We’ve been working hard finalising all our 2026 World Cup plans.

We’re proud to announce in its new location our GIANT OUTDOOR screen has been installed today for the tourney and our new outdoor bar is up and running.

Our decor and interior graphics are nearly finished, we have 3x New Hd Projectors with 122inch screens in our main bar, boatyard and main function room as well as other improvements throughout.

We’re proud of our offerings for the football and previous tournaments but we aren’t taking our feet off the gas and are going bigger and better.

All the England games this year will be ticketed.

The opening 3 games ticket links will be posted tomorrow afternoon and will include a welcome drink on arrival at a cost of £5.

I’m sure there is a load more questions but that will be included in tomorrows post but for now C’mon England!!!
