It’s Saturday, it’s sunny, we’re celebrating! 🥳

We’re doing a bbq from 5pm (kids eat free with paying adults) 🍖

Then from 7pm we have two live bands! 🎶🕺

And we’ll be serving our famous cocktails 🍸 🍹

It’s half term and the sun’s shining!

All week we’ll have out the slip n slide, paddling pool and sprinklers and have music playing in the garden!

All culminating with not one but two live bands playing in the garden on Saturday night from 8pm

And it’s not summer without a BBQ so we’ll be doing BBQs throughout the week and kids under 12 eat free with paying adults

We’ll also be doing our famous cocktails - pictured is a slip n’sun - gin, kumquat, ginger and smoked lime 🍸

Come and see us at Otford Village Fete tomorrow and have a go at Bat & Trap

This is a traditional pub game that is known to be the forerunner to cricket. It’s now almost exclusively played in pub gardens in Kent and is a key part of our county’s heritage. It doesn’t take much moving and can be played with a pint in one’s hand!

As always, during village events it gets very busy with traffic so we welcome people to come and park at The Rising Sun Twitton and take the 15 minute stroll into the centre of the village. We just ask that you come in for a drink afterwards - and given the heat we’ll have the sprinklers and slip n slide out for kids and adults who are young at heart!

The Rising Sun Twitton are on tour!
Thursday - Sunday we are lucky enough to be providing the food and bar for Sevenoaks Shakespeare Society’s performance of “Shrewed” at Otford Palace

The performance is a retelling of the Taming of the Shrew set in 1940s Britain and we’re getting into the spirit by coming in costume!

Weekday performances are at 8pm (doors open at 7pm) and the Sunday matinee is at 3pm (doors open 2pm)

The last performance they did here was fantastic and the weather is looking to be great so it’s definitely worth coming along!

We’re celebrating! One of our fab bar staff Michael Stepney has his birthday next week so tomorrow it’ll be a BBQ, music, drinks and dancing (and possibly the birthday bumps!)

It’s the this Sunday and we can’t wait!

Driving through the village and parking can be tricky on busy days so as always we welcome people to park at The Rising Sun Twitton and walk to Shoreham. It’s a lovely walk - about 1.5 miles through fields and the golf course. We just ask that you pop in for a drink afterwards.

Come and celebrate the Mayday bank holiday with us tomorrow

BBQ, music in the garden, prize for the best spring bonnet and have a go at old Kentish game Bat & Trap, which predates cricket!

We haven’t got a maypole but if anyone brings one we’d be happy to give it a go!
