A beautiful inn in the Yorkshire Dales with ten contemporary and luxurious bedrooms. We offer relaxed dining in the comfortable restaurant as well as a cosy bar with local ales and interesting wines. Fully refurbished and reopened under a new team in autumn 2021. The Plough is perfectly positioned for exploring the Yorkshire Dales and the Forest of Bowland; walkers, cyclists, rock climbers, potholers, golfers and fishermen are all welcome. The inn is within driving distance of Settle, Clitheroe and Skipton for those wanting to visit a typical market town. Our food is seasonal and made with locally sourced ingredients. They'll be delighted to settle down in front of a roaring fire after a long walk in the Dales. The Plough also caters for weddings, parties and celebrations in our conservatory which overlooks the lawns and the valley beyond.

We’re lighting the fire at The Plough for the first time this season, and we thought that was as good an excuse as any for a little Friday night get-together.

Whether it’s your annual catch-up with friends, a work Christmas meal, a family celebration or Christmas Day itself, we’re now taking festive bookings at The Plough.

Our festive menu offers 2 courses for £25 or 3 for £30, with plenty of seasonal favourites – from roast turkey and topside of beef to Seafood Thermidor, followed by Christmas pudding, apple & cinnamon crumble and plenty more.

Or make Christmas Day wonderfully easy and let us do the cooking, serving and washing up while you simply enjoy the occasion.

🎄 Christmas at The Plough is officially here! 🎄

We’re delighted to finally share our 2026 festive menus – and bookings are now open for both festive get-togethers and Christmas Day.

Our festive menu is just £25 for two courses or £30 for three, with dishes including roast Thirkleby turkey, Water Edge Farm roast topside of beef, Seafood Thermidor, steak & Guinness pie and butternut squash risotto – followed by festive favourites including Christmas pudding, apple & cinnamon crumble and chocolate brownie.

And if you’d like to let someone else take care of Christmas Day this year, join us for a three-course Christmas lunch. It's £110 for adults and £55 for children, with turkey and beef alongside Chateaubriand for two, Seafood Thermidor and wild mushroom risotto.

Work Christmas parties, family get-togethers, festive lunches or the big day itself – we’d love to celebrate with you.

Our festive menu will be launching very soon, and if you're already thinking about Christmas get-togethers, we'd love to make sure you're among the first to see it.

We're absolutely delighted to have retained our 5-star AA status yet again!

A huge well done to the whole team for the hard work, care and attention that goes into making every stay at The Plough a special one.

We’re also very proud to have received an AA Rosette for Culinary Excellence for 2026, recognising the quality of the food coming out of our kitchen.

We’re absolutely delighted that The Plough has been named Best Pub AND Best Rural Pub in the 2026 Local Pub Awards!

A huge thank you to everyone who nominated us and voted for us. We know lots of you got behind us when we shared the awards earlier this month, and it genuinely means a great deal to the whole team.

We’re incredibly proud of The Plough - the food that comes out of our kitchen, the people who look after you, our lovely pub and rooms, and the wonderful community of locals and visitors who support us.

Awards are lovely, but knowing that these were voted for by you makes this one particularly special.

September is a beautiful time to explore the Dales and the Forest of Bowland. The summer crowds are disappearing, the landscape is beginning to change and there are miles of countryside waiting to be walked.

Make The Plough your base and spend the day exploring, before coming back to a cosy pub, a delicious dinner and a good bottle of w**e.

Then there’s nothing left to do but head upstairs to one of our ten comfortable bedrooms, and wake up ready to do it all again - after a hearty Yorkshire breakfast!
