Today marks the end of an era 🥲
Alice, the daughter of one of my closest Tasmanian friends, arrived to stay with us in the UK in 2018.
When Compton McRae opened its doors in 2019, Alice was there from day one — quite possibly the best barista Wiltshire had ever seen. Over the years she has been a huge part of our journey, sticking with us through thick and thin (and sometimes a lot more thin!).
From making coffees and serving tables to becoming our head purchaser and resident cheese expert, Alice has worn many hats and tackled every challenge with dedication, humour and unwavering commitment. Quite simply, Compton McRae would not be what it is today without her 🩵
Today is Alice’s last day with us as she begins an exciting new chapter in equine veterinary services in Frome. We have no doubt she will be brilliant, and she leaves with our heartfelt thanks, admiration and full support. We are going to miss her. Although we hope she’ll still be on speed dial for any emergencies!
On a personal note, Alice, thank you. Thank you for everything you have done for me, for Compton McRae, and for everyone who has had the pleasure of working alongside you. We will miss you enormously.
Good luck in your next adventure and come visit for coffee soon!
