Three steak nights in, and we can’t thank you enough for the incredible support. Every event has been a fantastic success, with tables full, steaks flying out of the kitchen, and plenty of empty plates coming back!

And yes… we’re still not using AI-generated steak photos. We don’t need to! What you see on your plate is exactly what you’ll get – proper steaks, properly cooked, with no gimmicks.

The Red Lion is looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone keen to make a start in the culinary industry, whether you're taking your first step in a professional kitchen or looking to build on previous experience.

No previous experience is necessary - full training will be provided. What matters most is a willingness to learn, a good attitude and reliability.

The role:
As Kitchen Assistant you'll support the kitchen team with the day-to-day running of a busy pub kitchen. This includes helping with food preparation, keeping work areas clean and organised, washing up and assisting the chefs during service.

You'll report to the duty chef and to the landlord and landlady.

Hours
This is a part-time position. Weekend work is essential, with the potential for some evening shifts during the week.

What we're looking for
• Enthusiasm for food and an interest in kitchen work
• A reliable, hardworking approach and good timekeeping
• The ability to work well as part of a team, especially during busy service
• Willingness to learn and take direction
