Hi all,

The new business owners will be calling the cafe 'The deli at no. 57'. They have said "we will be serving local and international cheeses, meats and artisan breads. We are a family with over 70 years catering experience and are looking forward to welcoming the community of Sedbergh with a relaxed atmosphere for good food, coffee and wines".

It sounds like they will be a providing an excellent asset to Sedbergh's Main Street.

UPDATE : Sadly the prospective new tenants have decided not to take on the lease.

We will be closing the café at close of business on Saturday of this week, and probably for a good chunk of September, to allow us to provide some tlc to bits of the building that were affected by the water leak. Anyone who has loyalty points please come and use them on Saturday as when it reopens it will hopefully be with new tenants. I will update you all as soon as I can.

Thank you for the support we have received since we reopened the cafe. It hasn't been easy dealing with the abuse from our ex-tenant and having to open.

This is for information only as there are interested parties who have been affected by our ex-tenant.

Paul O'Neill was up for sentencing yesterday in Manchester Magistrates court. As they could not give him a sentence of 2 or more years his case has been transferred to the Crown Court. This was for the Hillsborough malicious communications crime, of which he'd been found guilty, and failed to turn up for sentencing in August 2024.

Sorry to all our regulars, we will be closed tomorrow 8th July. I have a big birthday and am having the day off with my boys.

To all who are interested, or who have received malicious emails from Paul O’Neill who previously ran The Gundog Coffee Shop. O'Neill was arrested lasted night and is currently in custody.
