We love all our international guests that find thier way to the Galley.. in Scrabster
We love their stories, reasons for visiting and excitement for good local produce.

I met Rainer cycling his way from Dusseldorf in Germany all the way up to Shetland and back home... over the course of a hundred days!
What a gentleman.. full of glee, kindness and energy

He made this video after accepting an offer to stay with me, in my home, after his tour of Shetland and Orkney..
He enjoyed his meal so much on Saturday night he stayed another night so he could eat again on Sunday (and recover from a late night supporting Scotland in the world cup!)

If any tourists visiting The Galley - Scrabster arrive with a selfie.. with the man and his spaceship bike we will give a 10% discount - so keep an eye out on your travels...

Its Sunday Special time!!

This week, Sunday 14th.. we have a limited number of -

Another of this weekends specials.. which received fantastic feedback from diners

Blackbelly Rose fish with roast vegetables and gnocchi in roast tomato sauce.. landed here in Scrabster, this rarely seen local species is a winner!
Firm, sweet white flesh with a skin that crisps well with the right technique - lush!

Hi Folks.. bit late with this but I only came up with the concept at 9pm last night!!

This week's Sunday Special is -
Panko Hake Fillets, house chips, tartar sauce and lemon £12

Available for sit in and take away.. this is only available to our Facebook followers.

For take away please phone as we can't monitor messenger all day whilst in service... if we miss your call please leave name and number saying "Sunday Special" and we'll get right back or just turn up and give us 5-10 mins depending how busy we are

Hello Folks.. so we have decided to do a Sunday Special every week this summer!

This will be available all day for sit in and also available from 3-6pm for take away. NO pre-order required but first come first served until gone!!

We will post our weekly Sunday Special after service on Saturday night.. and again on Sunday when we open with a picture!
As this is a new concept we will iron out the wrinkles as we go!!

This Sunday 7th June we are offering -
Panko Hake fillet, chips and tartare sauce for £12!
Landed in Scrabster on Friday morning and a personal favourite of ours at The Galley.

On this occassion we have plenty and don't anticipate selling more than we can provide....

Just message the night before to register interest or give us a call on 01847 894999 after 12.30pm on Sunday afternoon!

Hi Folks.. as we anticipate getting busier and opening 6 days a week we have decided to take our Sunday Roast off the menu for the summer months..
There are only three Sundays left in May on which we will still be offering our fabulous roast... so last chance for a few months!!

Roast Beef with Yorkshire Pudding £18.50
1/2 Roast Chicken with Pig in Blanket £16.50
Roast Pork Belly with Apple Sauce £17.50
Whole "Family" Chicken with Pigs in Blankets £55..all served with our signature selection of veggies, golden Roast potatoes and proper gravy
As usual sit in 2pm-7pm and takeaway from 3pm-6pm
We do still request a pre-order before 9pm Saturday
(full menu available too!)

We will be bringing back our signature Seafood Platter and re-launching our full seasonal a la carte menu in June

Hi Folks.. I'd like to take a moment to show some gratitude to all my team.
Our Jo was taken off in an ambulance just 3 weeks ago with a serious back condition and returned to work (in line with doctors orders) last week but doing short shifts..
Teagan has picked up the reins and covered every hour needed.. and done a great job under duress!

We also had a fantastic chef join us a month ago but sadly the travel on his days off was too far (near Newcastle) so young Lennon has been my right hand man in the kitchen. He is starting college in September to do his professional cookery course (if I haven't broken him by then!!)
Regulars will see some new faces as we hire this seasons superstars..

After a hard shift on Saturday the front of house were very grateful to receive a card and flowers from guests who waited 50 mins for a table and then thoroughly enjoyed the food they graciously waited so long to receive.. you guys rock!
We do look forward to opening more days but have a few more solutions to find before we do!!
