The Sweffling White Horse A traditional village alehouse, serving an ever-changing range of locally brewed real ales
(1)

A 200 year-old pub, recently refurbished to form a traditional cosy village alehouse. The pub is entirely heated by wood - having a wood-fired range in the public bar (in which pies are heated during the winter) and a large woodburner in the lounge bar. The pub specialises in local produce, offering an ever-changing range of locally brewed real ale - served straight from the cask. Also available is a selection of locally made spirits, local ciders and soft drinks. Fairtrade and/or organic spirits are also available, as well as a small selection of locally made pies and pasties. A selection of traditional pub games, including bar billiards, darts and a few others are also available.

Come along for chess club tonight - grab a drink and find an opponent for some friendly competition ♟️

Of course, we're open for non-chess players too - grab a drink and find a chum for some friendly conversation 🙂

Saturday 10th October 8pm - LIVE MUSIC - QUAYNOTES

Julia Dansie (guitar), Claudia Myatt (Celtic harp), Anna Roberts (guitar)

Quaynotes folk trio play a mix of sea themed songs and tunes from haunting Celtic harp tunes to ballads of sea longing, partings and sailing life.

The three Quaynotes are all sailors, mainly based on the River Deben in Suffolk, England although Claudia’s voyaging has taken her around Cape Horn. Their sets tell stories of women in maritime history – sea wives and herring girls, women waiting at home and those who dressed as men and went to sea. All delivered with rich harmonies and a great sense of fun.

🧶 KNIT & NATTER 🧶

Fancy a bit of stitching, chatting and putting the world to rights?

Join us on Monday 28th September, 7–9pm for Knit & Natter at the White Horse.

No need to be an expert, just bring along whatever you’re working on — knitting, crochet, embroidery, sewing or anything else that involves making things and probably having a good natter.

☕🍺 Good company, crafty hands and a couple of hours away from the rest of the world.
