The first light 🕯️

What a week it has been here at 3 Fish Row.

After the events of last weekend's catastrophic criminal damage to our outside area, it brought a small tear to my eye to actually see our outdoor lights finally back up and running. Although we still have work to do on securing the posts we have been able to get the area back to what we would want it to be after the generous support of our wonderful community.

I cannot count how many people have approached me directly at the bar, in the street or online with words of support and ❤️. In my quietest moments to know that ❤️ is still burning bright in today's busy and hard world makes my passion to deliver more to this beautiful community burn stronger inside than I thought possible.

I cannot thank everyone enough for everything everyone has done to help us. As a small independent hospitality business owner, you wake up everyday just wondering if you will make it through the next day without incident, just to bring joy and smiles to everyone that walks in your door, to show them why their support means so much to your dream of running a business.

Seeing online hate towards this ❤️ and on our GoFundMe bought me to a quote that famous American poet, memoirist, and civil rights activist Maya Angelou once wrote "Hate, it has caused a lot problems in the world, but has not solved one yet" - and that still rings true with those anonymous comments. Hate and negativity will never solve a problem, just create them and we should live in a world without this - and as we know , the online world of social media , is not real life.

We plan to put this behind us and now move forward, and when the time is right, karma will do its best for those that created this heartache.

We will be making no further comment on the incident while the relevant police investigation is ongoing.

Thank you for the love ❤️

I cannot tell you how touched I have been in the last 24hrs by the donations, love and support from the whole community towards the damage caused at the weekend.

The amount of people reaching out personally to help fix, rebuild and to offer their words of support is something I could never really repay in any way, shape or form.

We now know that our insurance is not an avenue we can actively pursue due to the minimum excess required and the time it would take to get the payout, and, with no guarantee that we can obtain criminal damages from the culprits (if identified and caught) , these kind gestures from each and everyone of you can help us get back to normal!

I have therefore, paused, stopped the as we have more than enough to repair our outdoor area ❤️❤️❤️

I feel like I am rambling a bit with wanting to say so much more and to thank just everyone by name or personally but I want this post to not be the next War and Peace and something you can easily digest without scrolling and scrolling.

So I will finally say with every ounce of love in my body ❤️❤️Thank you ❤️❤️ and will keep you all updated ❤️❤️

The day after update......

After a day of heartache and reflection and the outpour of ❤️ and support from the community, I have been encouraged by many of our loyal supporters to start a page to help us repair and rebuild after this disgraceful act of vandalism.

It's not something I would normally do (and for those who know me well, I am one stubborn ginger mule) but maybe I need to stop being so proud and accept help when it's offered.

On Saturday 12th September at around 11:20pm, our outdoor area was catastrophically destroyed by a group of vandals. This has been reported to the police and our insurance company with no guarantee of any pay out.

We do not currently have the funding to fix this area without defaulting on either bills or not paying staff.

So I have created a Gofundme for those that may be interested in helping out:

The damage includes, all the lighting, the whole of the right facing fencing - next to Ride Moto and Coffee - and the archway which has been completely destroyed.

Official Statement.

Maul's W**e and Cheese Bar have been brought to the attention of catastrophic criminal damage to our outside area last night : Saturday 12th September 2026.

All evidence we have been able to obtain has been passed onto the police for further investigation.

As a small independent hospitality business you can imagine how upset we are with this incident and the financial dent this will now take on us to repair. We are devastated with these events and will have to make some tough choices with regards to its repair and continuation.

We will be making no further comment at this time, until the relevant police investigation has been concluded.
