PAUL RYDER at the Antelope.
-throughout April 2018-
Now retired, Paul has lived in Salisbury for 22 years. He is self-taught and is equally ‘at home' with acrylics, oils, watercolours and pen and ink. His paintings display versatility covering land and seascapes, architecture, portraits and still life. His style is often very detailed but can become less formal with a palette knife.
His work is inspired by the architecture, natural beauty and intrigue of his surroundings. Salisbury local scenes for example include the splendour of Salisbury Cathedral and Stonehenge, plus for this exhibition, a ‘detached' take of the Poultry Cross in the city centre to show its splendour in isolation. Paul is a regular traveller where he gets inspiration for many of his paintings. He also has a fascination for, and enjoys portrait painting. Paul is a member of the Salisbury Group of Artists.
This exhibition is made up of a small cross-section of Paul’s work. The broader extent of his work can be seen on his website
