Check out the new exhibition at CafeArt.
‘West’ by Darcy flint.

Darcy has spent 18 months traveling in New Zealand and this collection represents his return to Cornwall and also his return to painting.

His primary inspiration is the post-industrial landscape of West Penwith especially Pendeen.

The West display represents a conscious abandonment of source materials and digital reference in order to create images exclusively reliant on memory and emotional recall.

Although Flint has discarded the use of digital aids during the creative process he does not disregard the continuous role that technology plays in his visual language and the overall aesthetic of the work.

He considers digital reliance unfortunately symbiotic to the modern world. A world where garish, unnatural colours dominate and affect our view.

Flint does little to deny this, celebrating it as a novel phenomenon of modern suggestion.

Pop into CafeArt and view the latest exhibition by Elaine Oxtoby.

Elaine moved to Cornwall in 2008 and settled in Marazion.
She is from a family of Artists , her father and two sisters also paint.

Elaine has had exhibitions in her home in Marazion, and has also exhibited in a number of galleries over the years.

Elaine was inspired to paint a lot more after moving to Cornwall, with its beautiful surroundings.
She enjoys painting the beautiful beaches, coastline, land and sea and also does the occasional still life.

She paints mainly in Acrylics and sometimes oils with a variety of tools, including brush, palette knife and
scrapers.

Don’t miss this wonderful exhibition. All the art is for sale pop in and browse whilst having a cuppa and a slice of cake
