Something new is brewing…

New menu now available! I have been playing with this for a while. Nervous about change. Nervous about whether you would like it. But…bagels - who knew the beach needed them?!

There’s the crispy streaky bacon bagel…simple, done well with quality ingredients. Or the more indulgent chopped smoked salmon or avocado, feta and pink onions.

I asked the small people in my life what was missing from the menu. Jess - chips (head over to for those) Bethany - pesto and Anna Nutella.

So now you will find cheese and pesto toasties, and (genius work by young Anna) Nutella and fruit toasties. Try it. You will be hooked.

And I haven’t even got onto the cold brew yet! Surface Coffee Roasters ® suggested their Moonlight blend for cold brew and oh. My. Word. Obsessed with these. But more of my love of cold brew very soon.

Proud of this new menu. Simple food, done well. Drinks we are proud of and still our signature home made cakes.

Imagine if we made a viral Dot Cake… 👀

A Manor Made sponge — ridiculously light, beautifully fluffy, with a lick of vanilla syrup and a little something extra for a tiny kick.

Layered with homemade plum jam (just like Nanny Brunton used to make), topped with Cornish clotted cream, another layer of sponge, silky buttercream, and then completely dunked in Dots…

Or, as us Brits call them… hundreds and thousands. 🇬🇧✨

🏰Just 10 days left to visit us at Caerhays Castle! Have you been yet?🏰

The Castle Tearoom season is unbelievably drawing to a close, with just 10 days left to enjoy a visit before the Castle and Gardens close for the year.

There’s still time to squeeze in a visit for coffee, cake, lunch, or a cream tea, and in our humble opinion, the gardens are looking particularly beautiful right now. From late spring colour to peaceful pathways, or a tour of the Castle it’s a wonderful time to explore all that Caerhays has to offer.

We’d love to see you before the season ends. 🌿☕️

Weekly Round Up ☀️

Instagram perfect life we are not this week. Bit of a raw, honest review. I debated how honest to be. But this is it…

The first three weeks of May financially were a bit of cold, wet disaster. We needed something special.

And wow didn’t half term deliver. But such volumes come at a cost and I had to dig very deep to get through it as did my team. The irony of this is not lost on me. We desperately needed it to be busy. And thankfully it was. But it didn’t come easy.

The sunshine arrived, schools were on holiday, we had a huge buffet, staff were off, and our two new units took off in ways we never expected. It was magical. It was exciting.

It was relentless.

I even had to close the café at Little Winnick before I’d properly announced it had reopened. We’ll be back open soon — I just need a day off and a chance to catch up. You know what, I am proud I quickly made that decision to ease the pressure on us.

But amongst the chaos, something unexpected happened.

The imposter syndrome disappeared and I became so bloody proud of myself and my team. Wow did we achieve.

Because when the pressure was on, our team was incredible. They stepped up, looked after each other and absolutely nailed it.

I’m exhausted. I’m grateful. And I’m incredibly proud of what we’re building.

Thank you for keeping us so busy. ❤️

We’ll be honest — it’s hard, hot work. But you won’t find a better view. 🌊

We’re looking for team members who are happy to move between roles, including:
• Barista
• Food prep
• Front of house
• Making smoothies
• Opportunity to cook 2 days a week

Applicants must be 18+ due to the nature of the work.

You’ll need to be hardworking, able to cope in very hot conditions, and be a strong team player.

If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and love beach life, we’d love to hear from you.

Our week 🤍

The Manor Made world feels a lot right now. The weather is dragging us down and making things even quieter than May usually is. The worry is real.

I just want to make pretty cakes, serve good coffee and have lovely conversations… not spend so much time thinking about the grown-up realities that make hospitality feel so hard sometimes.

But there’s still hope in the promise of half term, sunshine and brighter days ahead. ☀️

So here’s to better weather, fuller tables, warm coffees, beautiful cakes and kind customers keeping small businesses going.

Bring on the sun.
