Welcome to The Waffle House, located within the 16th Century, Grade II listed Kingsbury watermill overlooking the River Ver in the tranquil Conservation Area of St Michaels Street, St Albans. A family business since 1978, we specialise in sweet and savoury Belgian waffles individually cooked to order with many organic and free-range ingredients. The Mill, which sits on the River Ver, is situated a

t the lower end of the beautiful Verulamium Park which has walks, sports facilities, a children’s play area and a large lake with many species of birds. Verulamium Museum, the Roman Hypocaust and the Amphitheatre are all just a short walk through St. Fishpool Street with many fine period buildings runs past the Abbey down to St Michaels village from the city centre.

Our new Matcha Lattes are made with 100% pure latte-grade Kyoto matcha, carefully whisked and served just the way you like it.

🌮 New special on the board.

Our Mexican Pork starts with Blythburgh free-range pork shoulder, smoked and slow cooked for 12 hours until tender, then served on a rich Mexican bean stew with chipotle crema and a freshly baked sweetcorn, red onion and coriander waffle.

The weather’s looking bright, but if you’d rather keep out of the sun, both houses have covered outdoor seating ready and waiting. Pair it with one of our home-made iced teas, coolers or refreshing summer drinks and settle in for a long lunch.
