Dr Syn’s Lounge and look for the wall carvings of the Catholic priests fleeing to the continent at the time of the Reformation. The Small Lounge overlooks the cobbles of Mermaid Street, which was the main route to the anchorage in Rye in years gone by. “We went for dinner on sunday evening and had a wonderful meal.we had starters of mackerel and ravioli with crab which were amazing and mains of sea bass and sea trout were stunning also.we were visiting from ireland and i have to say it was a wonderful experience.the staff were amazing and i would definitely recommend the mermaid inn “
