The doors of the Chapel Chippy Shawforth will close for the final time at 7pm today ( Friday 28th July). We would like to thank you all for your kind comments and messages of support. If the business could have survived on kind words and well wishes, we'd have been there for an eternity. Personally, I think the community is in desperate need of a local shop as opposed to a fast food outlet, but we send our best wishes to the next person to take it on. We will truly miss serving you all and send our heartfelt thanks to everyone for their custom for the last 3 months ###

It is with deep sadness I write to inform you that the Chapel Chippy Shawforth will be closing its doors for the final time at 7pm Friday 28th July. We have tried our very best but unfortunately the numbers just don't add up. The general running costs, high energy prices, supplies and stock prices are astronomical and we can no longer continue to run at a loss. We will be open this week for dinner from 11.30am - 2pm and tea from 4pm until 7pm. This really has not been an easy decision to make. We would like to thank everyone who came through our doors, recommended us, and returned as regular customers, we genuinely will miss you all. Thank you, the Chapel Chippy Shawforth team xx
