We have been in Ripponden now for 17 years and counting....
Originally named Georgia's Sandwich Shop, the shop was totally gutted and refurbished. The now car park used as a sidings for the Rishworth railway station.

WARNING - SCAM ALERT

I've just had a phone call from a woman who was ringing to say she was thrilled that my 'books' I'd donated to a local school were now ready for distribution.

She said that it was all ready to go after our phone call in October last year. I had no memory of such a call or of offering to sponsor anything like that. This call was very clever as it made me feel like I was being thanked. I thought 'this is odd, I don't remember that at all" - she even named a school which could benefit from it - Bolton Brow - a school which is known to me.

She said they'd post a copy of the book out to me and that I'd get positive review on my page and that my business name would be printed on the book. She checked my business name and address with me.

Throughout the phone call I was puzzled as I have no memory of this and I couldn't find any evidence that I'd ever agreed to this. I am a person who will, when I've got funds, sponsor things in my community but usually as a response to a direct request - not when some third party calls me. By now the alarm bells are ringing very loudly.

Finally she then said that I'd agreed to pay the 'sponsorship' fee of £289 for this privilege - I knew then without a doubt that this was a scam. I'd never agree to that and then not remember it.

I questioned this and said I did not agree to it and I wanted the proof that I'd agreed to this in writing - and she eventually hung up on me.

The number she called from is 07351918252

Please be aware if you do get such a call - it's a scam. I have not signed up for these anti-bullying books at all. I suspect the books don't even exist.
