Hi friends and family
What a week! We’ve been incredibly busy, with so many new faces and, of course, our wonderful regulars. Wednesday and Friday were especially busy, and I’m sorry if we couldn’t give everyone the time and attention we normally do. Your support means everything to us.
One of the most touching moments this week came from a customer who travelled from Oxford after hearing we are closing in October.
Many years ago, while struggling with anorexia, he came to South Street for the Double Dot Bash Music Festival, where we catered for many years. A friend encouraged him to try our food, and that first meal became the beginning of his journey back to eating cooked food and, eventually, enjoying food and life again.
He remembered Tutu’s Cooking all these years later and wanted to visit us one more time before we close.
His story reminded me that we never really know the impact a simple plate of food, a conversation or a smile can have on someone’s life.
Friday was also a wonderful night with our Open Mic family. We were fully booked, and I’m so sorry to everyone who couldn’t get a table. Your support is truly amazing!
Now we’re getting ready for September 5th our big party of the year. Bring your high chairs, your family, your friends and, most importantly, yourselves! Let’s make more beautiful memories together.
A huge THANK YOU to my friends Margaret, Rosetta and my team for all your help this week. You are absolute stars, and I couldn’t do this without you.
And to every single one of you thank you for your love, kindness, support and loyalty.
This chapter may be coming to an end, but we still have plenty of memories to make together.
Thank you for being part of our story. ❤️
