The Rowbarge, has been serving the needs of travellers and locals alike for hundreds of years, but we re-opened the doors after a comprehensive refurbishment in 2012. The pub has been through a number of incarnations over the last 25 years, but it feels now like it has come back to its roots as a truly characterful traditional pub. There are six different rooms with nooks and crannies aplenty, six different cask ales on tap, a decent wine list and a shelf crammed with malts. And most important of all, you’ll find a warm welcome from a friendly crew who’ll enjoy looking after you.

The Rowbarge Annual Quiz

This year, we’re bringing our annual quiz forward to November. Before we indulge in one too many Christmas films or find ourselves singing every word to a Christmas number one from 1986, come along and put your general knowledge to the test to see who will be crowned our Quiz Champions of 2026.

Join us on Sunday 8th November, with arrival from 6.30pm ready for the quiz to begin at 7pm.

Tables are £45 for a team of four and include a drink for each person, with 50% of all proceeds going to our local charity, Medical Detection Dogs.

There’ll also be a few prizes up for grabs:

1st prize – A two-course meal for four at The Rowbarge
2nd prize – A boozy hamper
3rd prize – A Christmas treat hamper

The quiz will take place under our heated marquee, but as it’ll be November, we’d still recommend wrapping up warm.

Tickets are available for teams of four.

Pick your team wisely, brush up on your general knowledge and we’ll see who comes out on top.

Next week is: National Sausage Week

Another first for the Rowbarge – this year we’ll be taking part in National Sausage Week, running from Monday 26th October to Sunday 1st November.

Our kitchen team will be putting together a special sausage menu for the week, with a variety of different sausages and dishes to try, along with a few suggested tipples to complement your choice.

There’ll be something for every taste, and our Daily Menu will be running alongside, so all your usual pub favourites will still be available should sausages not be your thing.

Both menus will be available at lunch and dinner throughout the week, giving you plenty of opportunities to work your way through the sausage menu.

Running Monday 26th October through to Sunday 1st November.

Christmas Wreath Making with Petal & Peony, spaces still available 🎄

As much as some of us don’t want to admit it, Christmas is just around the corner and the festive checklist has begun – tree, wrapping paper, chocolate... and, of course, the Christmas wreath.

This year, we’ll be joined by Petal & Peony, who’ll be bringing along plenty of local foliage and guiding you through creating your very own Christmas wreath to take home and hang proudly on your door.

We have five dates to choose from:

Thursday 26th November
Monday 30th November
Wednesday 2nd December
Tuesday 8th December
Thursday 10th December

Please arrive from 6.45pm, ready for the workshop to begin at 7pm.

The evening will take place under our heated marquee so please make sure you wrap up warm.

Tickets are £70 per person and include all the materials and guidance you’ll need to create your wreath, a glass of mulled w**e (or an alternative) and warm mince pies.
