An engineer during the day and a baker at night, this venture was started in 2018 out of pure passion.

The cake that almost broke my confidence… became the foundation of everything that followed. ❤️

This cake popped up in my Facebook memories today.

2018. My very first paying customer. A complete stranger who found me on Facebook and trusted me to create a cake for her husband.I poured my heart into every detail.

When she collected it, she wasn’t happy with some of the fondant accessories I’d made and felt the figure didn’t really look like her husband.

Looking back, I completely understand. It was the first time I’d ever made fondant figures and accessories.
No training. No classes. No experience.
Just enthusiasm and a willingness to try.

As a beginner, her comments stung. But then she said something I’ll never forget.
She told me she loved the red velvet cake and that the taste had touched her heart.

Eight years later, those words still stay with me. Because of all the things she could have remembered about that cake, it wasn’t the figure. It wasn’t the accessories. It wasn’t the imperfections. It was how the cake made her feel.

Since then, I’ve created hundreds of cakes, celebrated countless milestones with wonderful families, and watched children grow up through the birthday cakes I’ve made for them year after year.

This little business brought creativity, confidence, friendships and purpose into my life in ways I never expected.

When I look at this cake today, I don’t see the mistakes.
I don’t see the fondant accessories that weren’t quite right. I don’t see the figure that didn’t look enough like her husband.

I see courage. I see determination. I see the beginning of a journey that changed me in ways I never imagined.

Sometimes we’re so focused on how much further we want to go that we forget to look back and see how far we’ve already come.

Today, thanks to a Facebook memory, I did exactly that.

And I’m proud of the journey.
