Good morning Reading. It's a lot less hot outside. And a lovely breeze.

I'm all set for today. Got bread from this week to cover the . As they are on holiday for the whole month. Today I have white, seeded and walnut. I will have the same for next weekend too.

Planning a wedding towards the end of the year? Or getting organised for next year?

We are specialising in Croquembouches wedding cakes. Trying to make your experience as easy as possible by simplifying the process.

First of all, a croquembouche is a tower of choux, filled with custard, dipped in caramel then stuck together to form a cone. It is traditionally made for weddings, christening , anniversaries and communions. We have also had it for birthdays too. The cake needs to be put together on the day as due to its ingredients, it can't be done in advance and refrigerated. So the delivery time is one of the most important part of the order process.

This week's menu BLUE COLLAR 🌮🍔🍹 on Friday

Lemon Chicken and new potatoes

Seared chicken thighs, Deglazed with White wine, seasoned with lemon juice, and herbs, covered with chicken stock and braised slowly into the oven.

Served with parsley new potatoes

Good morning Reading. I'm sorry if there's not much in the fridge today, it has been a busy 2 weeks and having the shop closed on Monday to clean after that Bastille weekend and the kitchen closed on Wednesday with Thames water doing work on top of the road, I did what I could.

Thank you for making our lives a little harder it's not that we have a business to run. I am kind of lucky that I can still open my business to trade. I can use my trailer to operate. But, I have to close my kitchen every time you send us a letter just in case you decide or not to complete the work. So for me, personally it's just losing a day's prep for the weekend. I can work around that bit it's getting painful. It's already not easy to operate an independent business without having extra problems every week which are out of our control.

The around the corner to me has to close its operation for a 3rd time. Imagine how much they would lose, and what about and can't really make bread without water. These guys are more affected by this than me.

So sort it out guys!!! Why do we pay so much for our water bills for this kind of service.

We are at the Forbury gardens to celebrate Bastille day. Lots of things are on show. And lots of great food will be served.

The shop is also open so if you can't make it to the gardens today.
