A great event. Congratulations to the winning teams.

The 2026 International Cadet UK National Championships at Plas Heli, Pwllheli, proved to be a week of two very different halves. What began with two days of frustratingly light winds eventually developed into some excellent and challenging racing.

New Coach/Safety boat for the Plas Heli fleet

In a programme started in 2019, Plas Heli has undertaken major upgrades of it's safety and mark laying Rib fleet.
The four mark laying ribs PSC 1,2,3,4 have been fitted with fuel efficient and environmentally friendly Suzuki 60/70 HP engines. Our safety boats 8 and 9 fitted with new 50hp Suzuki engines. Safety boats PH 10 has been retubed and fitted with a new Honda 50 hp engine. PH14, a 90HP 5.8m secondhand rib, was added to the fleet in 2025 as a mark layer / pin boat.

Today we are pleased to announce the start of a rolling programme to upgrade our hulls, and delighted with the purchase of a new Humber 5.8m rib - PH15 which will be fitted with one of our new Suzuki engines. This rib will be tasked as a coach boat for the fast IQ foils classes for example, and as a safety boat generally. This Humber rib is a strong seaworthy rib and a great addition to our fleet.
