• THE REAL DRAMA ☕️ SPILLING THE TEA ☕️
Its funny. Well not really. However, this last week I’ve watched this trend all over my socials to use this as a way of showcasing their businesses food ( rate it!! 👌🏻 - I’ve genuinely laughed reading them all.) Sadly though, this is actually really happening. Not sure if other small businesses are having it happen to them and like us we let it slide and don’t say anything.
We feel bad to call someone out. We just take it as a loss but why should we? In the last few months we have had a few customers leave without paying, some may have been genuine mistakes. We know some places, it is order and pay at the bar only. This may then confuse people when visiting new establishments and they may have forgotten they haven’t paid.
However on this occasion I watched this young couple genuinely plan not to pay and leave. This is our family run business. This is our staffs wages we are working hard to pay. The staff are working hard to give you a wonderful service and an enjoyable visit. It’s a shame that moments like this may change the way in which we have to run our business and take away that element of still ordering at the table and being waited on fully.
We are all human and if you genuinely are struggling need food or a drink and can’t afford it. Talk to us. Give us the benefit of the doubt but don’t disrespect us please. We have kids to feed too!! Let’s support businesses in what’s already a tough time as it is. Not steal from them. What might seem like nothing to you is still a part of an electric bill payment for us, or a water bill, or a broken mug to replace (lord knows there are plenty of those ). It’s small for you but disheartening for us.
