A huge shout out to all my staff that have worked so hard this weekend.
To my chefs who have dealt with high numbers in an extremely hot kitchen, I cannot thank you enough.
To my front house team - with the weather being so nice, a huge thank you - it is harder for us when everyone eats outside. I regret putting so many steps in the garden. Obviously it does take us longer to service these tables but I hope the customers that came to us understood this and appreciated just as I do what a wonderful, loyal and hardworking team we have - love to you all ❤️

British pubs are disappearing at a rate of nearly two per day in 2026, with 161 closures and 2,400 job losses reported in the first quarter alone.

This current crisis reflects a staggering long-term decline; since CAMRA was founded in 1971, the UK has lost 40% of its pubs, falling from 75,000 to fewer than 45,000.

Despite a 15% tax relief measure introduced last month, the British Beer and Pub Association warns that "disproportionate" tax burdens and rising costs continue to wipe out profits.

The regional impact is uneven, with Scotland suffering the heaviest losses this year, while Wales remains the only region in Great Britain to report a slight increase in pub numbers.

Industry leaders are calling for a permanent overhaul of the hospitality tax system to prevent these treasured community hubs from being permanently lost to shifting consumer habits.

Brilliant night tonight. Well done to all staff 133 covers with two staff members down and the Landlord never afraid after doing a split behind the bar, to jump in and get his hands dirty in the kp area.

It is so nice to receive a positive review but even more important for us is when a customer takes the time to find out the names of the waiting staff.
