It is with deep sadness that the Giarratano family announce the passing of Beppe (Guiseppe) Giarratano. Beppe dedicated his life to Italian cuisine, specialising in beautifully cooked traditional Sicilian dishes. He was at his happiest as an attentive warm host, ensuring all who dined at his tables ate well and felt special. His food, humour and charisma amassed a loyal group of friends who supported the many restaurants Beppe has owned over the years.

Unfortunately Beppe's passing was under tragic circumstances having been killed in Mombassa, Africa earlier this year. His ashes were transported to Sicily, where he now rests in peace. The family pass on their gratitude to all who have dined with and loved Beppe over the years.

Please confine your comments on this post to memories and condolences rather than the circumstances of Beppe's passing. The family is being kept up to date by the authorities.

With regret, and with thanks to customers who have been such good and loyal friends, Beppe's restaurant is closed for the time being. Beppe is in good health, but taking a much-needed break :)

"Tuna Heatwave Salad" Beppe made me this lovely salad this lunchtime. He's usually open 12.30 till 1.30, and evenings from 5.30. Beppe's not on the 50% off scheme but you dont need to be rich to afford Beppe's prices. So why not support Beppe anyway and support the country as well by not claiming a subsidy on your dinner?

Ice Cream in Ashley Cross! Look out for Beppe opening lunchtimes as well as evenings. There's a fantastic new range of ice cream flavours - all authentic, as everything is at Beppe's. Happy VE Day Anniversary from Beppe - why not celebrate with something delicious from his deli - from top left there's Veg antipasti, Aubergine Parmigiana, Antipasti Platter, then
olives, pesto, and also some stuffed peppers which dont seem to be on the menu! but just ask and I'm sure the maestro will oblige. Best wishes :)
