Hurrah! The glorious, quintessentially Polperro-esque mayhem that is the Polperro Water Carnival is back this year!

It’s hard to express how much fun this is. You just need to experience the chaos for yourselves - the millers and sweeps battling it out, boarding each other’s boats and pelting each other with soot and flour, the lovingly hand crafted rafts taking to sea and racing each other around the bay with much shenanigans and a fair bit of sinking, the brave souls taking on the three legged race from the car park to the Legion, via every pub and drinking hole in the village, downing a pint or a shot at each one (might be a half - I was laughing too hard last year to remember!). Oh, it’s FUN! And there will be mermaids and pirates prowling the sea and the quay, to boot, me hearties!
