Meet another of our wonderful team here at Poco.

Jack is one of the team and a familiar face around the restaurant, part of the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere we like to create for everyone who dines with us.

We asked him what his favourite new dish on the menu is right now, and he chose the Stracciatella con asparagi grigliati e mortadella.

His go-to pairing is a glass of Chardonnay – Sorrell 🍷

Fresh, seasonal and perfectly balanced.

Another bottle we’ve been really enjoying lately 🍷

Etna Bianco from Federico Curtaz

A beautifully fresh Sicilian white grown on the slopes of Mount Etna.

Bright, mineral and full of delicate citrus and stone fruit notes, with that lovely volcanic freshness running through it.

The sort of wine that pairs perfectly with long lunches, good food and slow afternoons around the table.

Capuleti ripieni di spinaci e ricotta.

Handmade parcels from Verona filled with spinach and Sussex ricotta, brought together with sweet English peas, Jersey Royals and a fragrant wild garlic, parsley and thyme butter.

A dish that tastes like the season itself.

Paired with a glass of Chardonnay, The Wrekin, Sorrel (NZ).

Meet the lovely Jess 🤍

It’s been a little while since we’ve shared some of the wonderful faces behind Poco, so we thought it was time to reintroduce some of the team.

Jess is one of our chefs and is very much part of the Poco family, one of our friendly faces in the restaurant, helping to create the warm, welcoming atmosphere we’re so proud of.

We asked her what her favourite new dish on the menu is right now, and she chose the Capuleti Ripieni Di Spinaci E Ricotta, paired with a glass of Etna Bianco.

A fresh, simple pairing that’s full of flavour and a great example of how we love things to be here at Poco: good food, good wine and sharing it all around the table 🥂

A beautifully fresh Italian white from Alto Adige with soft citrus, stone fruit and a lovely mineral freshness running through it.

With National Walking Month here, there’s no better time to explore the beautiful village of Alfriston and the surrounding Cuckmere Valley 🚶🏼

Steeped in history, this little village dates back to Anglo-Saxon times and sits right in the heart of the Downs. The perfect place for a slow wander, whether you’re following the river or just getting lost in the streets.

Today marks three years since we opened our doors, and what a journey it’s been.

From our very first service to now, it’s been filled with long lunches, shared tables, great bottles, and so many familiar (and new) faces.

To everyone who has joined us, supported us, travelled to visit, celebrated with us, and come back again — thank you.
