Same chefs, same service, same place….. just a smaller menu! From Monday we are operating out of a portable kitchen which is at the front of the pub. Here is this weeks menu with a steak option coming later in the week.

Pie and a Pint can run as normal and our curry night on the 24th is going ahead.

The test run went very well so we are happy that we can still offer you the same KR experience you are used to. We will be serving fewer of you so please do book on 01732 810727 or on our website. See you soon.

The bar is open! Operation Clean Up has now begun, the portable kitchen has arrived and is getting set up ready for next week.

But most importantly we would love to see you for drinks! Pop in for a drink, enjoy the wonderful walks in the area this weekend and soak up our atmosphere even if you can’t have a bite to eat!

Thanks to all the kind words following our announcement of a fire at the pub.

The good news is that the pub and bar is open! The bad news is that we are not able to open the kitchen and therefore will have to close the restaurant for the rest of the week.

We are in the process of putting a plan in place and hope to be back up and running working from a temporary kitchen as early Monday.

Please bear with us as we navigate this next chapter of KR history!

We know many of you saw the fire brigade outside our beautiful country pub this afternoon. And yes, there was sadly a fire in the kitchen area and there has been extensive damage to the kitchen.

A huge thank you to Kent Fire and Rescue. No one was injured.

Rest assured that Simon and I are already rising to the challenge with Charlie and Ash and our wonderful team already establishing how we can get back up and running as quickly as possible.

If you were dining with us, thank you so much for being so understanding - we are aware that it seemed there was nothing wrong, but thanks to the very quick thinking and calm nature of the team in the kitchen, we are so pleased it didn’t escalate into something far worse.

Watch this space and please allow us some hours (and for it not to be a bank holiday) to work out our next steps.

It’s definitely too hot to cook at home! So whilst we had a full house for pie night, we’ve decided to offer a light menu for Wednesday evening - perfect for the garden or garden room! Come and grab a salad/light dish and pair it with a bottle of w**e or pint of something cool. Serving between 6-7.30pm.
