🎄The hatch has officially opened for Christmas 🎄

Come and join us in the alpine wonderland at Fotheringhay Christmas Trees on weekends (9:30-4:30) from tomorrow onwards.

Soup, sausage rolls, minced pies, hot chocolates, mulled wine are all on offer, as well as more festive treats and hot drinks to keep you warm this Christmas! All our goodies are homemade, so be sure not to miss out! 🥧🍷☕️

What better way to get into the Christmas spirit than to take a visit to Fotheringhay Christmas Trees! Have a wander around their fabulous Christmas shop and view their excellent selection of trees, finishing off with a mulled wine and mince pie, soup or a luxury hot chocolate! 🎄

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone that was apart of the Music on the Farm event! Including the bands, volunteers, local businesses that donated raffle prizes and those that attended, the event wouldn’t have happened with out you.

I truly am blown away by the generosity of the community. It was amazing to see so many people enjoying themselves again, with a special appearance from the sun too! ☀️

The total raised for the Oundle Community First Responders was £3,200! Which hopefully will help the volunteers and organisation to continue making a difference!

Come and spend the August bank holiday Saturday afternoon and evening with us listening to local bands and singers. Get stuck into the BBQ and bar serving some great local beers as well as Pimms and Prosecco.

Tickets are £5 available from Church Farm Pop-up Cafe, raising money for Oundle Community First Responders, a great organisation run by volunteers who give valuable assistance to the East Midlands Ambulance Service.

Don’t forget your picnic blanket and your dancing shoes!! 🎉🍻

Yesterday we harvested the field of barley next to the cafe. This field in particular is Spring barley and was planted on Easter Sunday.

Farmers tenderly care for their crops for almost a whole year and watch them grow throughout this period in the face of adversity from diseases, pests and weather to name a few. All this time and effort leads to this point of the year where the farmer can see if it was worth it.

This 25 acre field yielded 60 tonnes of barley, that is enough to make:

60 tonnes of malt

Which is 3,240 barrels of beer, 530226 litres of beer AND this equates to 933067 pints.

Besides that being a lot of pints and plenty of sore heads in the morning, the message behind is that each time you buy British produce you are doing your bit to support the industry and farmers that work tirelessly around the clock to provide food and drink at prices you like. 🌾🍻☀️🇬🇧
