β˜ƒοΈA wee winter update. ❄️

The fish are still biting. With members having some success this past week.

We’re seeing a higher number of anglers using the proof ball fishtechy to verify catch sizes. They seem very affective for the C&R angler looking to verify there catch.

Methods and flys mentioned.

Under the b**g
Eggstacy eggs
Squirmys

Nymphs with a slow retrieve

Snakes on fast glass lines. Fish chasing them.

We will be running up to the end of Nov as always with a reduction in permit costs through November.

Conditions look very favourable today. We hope to see you out on the water.

Pies, coffees and cakes as always. Chicken and haggis, Lattes and Carrot cake being the popular choice yesterday.

Tight lines 🎣

We’ve been a bit quiet on the page. The fishery has still trundled on in the background.

Evening fishing is on tomorrow night by booking only. We close at 930pm. Let us know if you want to come along. πŸ›Άor 🏦

Fishing has improved and becoming more consistent after a very up and down July. As is to be expected with the hotter temperatures and brighter days. Never the less anglers have been lucky enough to catch fish during this time.

Fabs of various colours proving to be a worthy fly to have in the old box. A lot of mentions of them catching with buzzers or wets behind them. Some even fishing multiple fabs.

Drys tempting fish to the surface noted as CDCs , daddies and beetles.

Lures being chased worth noting. Yellow dancers, ally mccoists and hot head damsels.

Craig and our members had a friendly competition last week during an evening session. Conditions proved challenging at times with gusts and sheets of rain coming at them on the boats. Colin won the session with 7 fish to the net. Not bad for a few hours angling.

We hope to do more competitions in the coming weeks.

Our range of coffee, cakes and pies selling well as always.

Hope to see you all soon.

Why not book a tasty pie or two for dinner.

🐟Wee update for the week been and next.

Loganlea producing some nice fish, aggressive takes and reel stripping galore.

Fabs and blobs in front of buzzers being a very successful method with it being noted at a fish a cast at points.

One of our members brought his dad up for the day and the visit paid off with the beaut pictured. Caught on a pink zonker home tied.

Members Kenny, Graeme and Fraser on with there clubs on Saturday. Most managed to bag up despite the wind picking up and making it difficult to get fishing from the boat.

Fish taking more consistently from the surface with flies being noted.
CDCs, Daddies, floating fry, beetles.

With things warming up we’re hoping this will make for some good evening fishing.

We are looking at Wednesday 3rd Jun for our first evening session. Come on any time until 10pm. Booking is a must for this.

The week in summary. In no particular order. 🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟

Our youth anglers day was a success today with a few of the young 🎣 anglers managing to land some fish after receiving some aid from the guides, coaches and experienced fishermen.

Despite the less than perfect conditions, Leo and Finlay managed to land trout successfully. Murray managed to hook into and drop a few fish in front of the cabin. Leo featured holding his catch at the dam wall and Murray whilst playing and unfortunately dropping his.

A good number of the lads showed great potential and we hope they continue with the sport. Some familiar faces returning with there own kit in the hope to improve there skill also.

We would love to take this further with a youth club or something along those lines. We just need to work out the details and get it up and running.

Anglers catching in high numbers throughout the week into the weekend. Highest noted catches

26 fish to the boat on Tuesday
80-90 fish from a club outing on Thursday
18 to the boat on Friday.
22 to the boat on Saturday.
30 to the boat today.

A lot of mention of lures with the usuals being named. Yellow dancers, damsels, cut throats, cats whiskers and zonkers.
Other flies noted, Hoppers, buzzers, fabs and blobs. Dry flies mentioned also but just not as consistent yet.

We still have boats available for Sat 9th May should you wish to book on. Give us a shout.

The Lea continues to produce.🦈

Fishing is up 1000% on the scale.

Fish being caught in various areas and depths.

Members continuing there streak of good fortune landing outstanding numbers in a session.

Steven noting,
β€œBrilliant session on the Float tube today. 7 fish to the net and dropped 4. Lost a belter of a fish up the shallow end estimated around 6 pound and was playing the fish for around 15 minutes”

Christian giving his update,

β€œI had 14 from a boat today including this belter of a rainbow. Must have been around 6lbs.

I caught on black, pink, and white snakes again. Just keeps working at the moment.
There was another boat that caught double figures on muddlers and yellow dancers from what I know”

Craig managed a couple on floating fry as he took advantage of the evening rise in the shallow end. Fish were popping everywhere feeding on small midge and other fly life.

Brown Beetles and mayfly found hatching on the water in abundance.

What’s not to love.
