The Dawyck Botanic Garden Cafe, renowned for its warm welcome, legendary scones, and breathtaking garden views, is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Front of House Waiter/Waitress to join our team for the upcoming season!
About Us
Located within the award-winning Visitor Centre of Dawyck Botanic Garden (part of the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh), our cafe is a welcoming retreat for garden visitors and locals alike.
The Role: Customer Experience in a Scenic Setting
As a Front of House Waiter/Waitress, you are essential to the guest experience, providing a high standard of service that matches the beauty of our surroundings.
Position Details:
• This is a fixed-term position, running from approximately 1st February to 30th November Part Time 2/3 days per week or Full time can be considered. The hours are 9.30am to 4 pm/4.30pm.
Key Responsibilities:
• Exceptional Service: Provide a warm, professional, and attentive service to all guests.
• Order Management: Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently.
• Cafe Presentation: Maintain a clean, tidy, and inviting dining environment.
• Cash Handling: Efficiently handle transactions, including operating the till/POS system.
About You (Skills & Attributes)
• Essential: A friendly, outgoing personality with a genuine passion for customer service.
• Experience: Previous experience in hospitality is highly desirable but not essential. We welcome all motivated individuals who possess the right attitude and willingness to learn.
• Team Player: Proven ability to work collaboratively and efficiently as part of a small team.
• Reliability: Excellent punctuality and a strong work ethic.
• Flexibility: Must be available to work weekends (not every weekend)
