Following my contribution to an article in yesterday’s Paisley Express I would like to share my email to RC planning from over 3 years ago supporting the redevelopment of the centre but emphasising the importance of it being done in a phases in accordance with the public consultation.

We are sorry to read of the passing of this distinguished gentleman who while he was provost was one of our regular customers, a couple of times weekly. Paisley and the cafe flourished during this time and he was always smiling, polite and humble.

He was the Paisley area’s civic leader between 1999 and 2003 and respected across party lines.

Beautiful service for the life of the owner of Cafe Su, Dot who sadly passed away in March wonderful thoughtful mass her children done her very proud. Sad day with a wonderful crowd of people who gathered to share it with her family. RIP Dot thankyou for being the most genuine caring person and I am very thankful to have shared some life memories with you ❤️

A very sad day for Paisley and the ongoing disastrous civic management:

Paisley Art Institute requested the return of all of its assets after it learned much of it would not be displayed in the new £45m Paisley Museum.

Sadly, the Cafe is now closed down. can I thank all our many customers who’ve become the cafe’s community on behalf of the family and the staff. From the first day the Paisley Centre opened in 1992 we’ve served 3 million buddies and visitors. So many happy memories and gratitude to you all for great times in the cafe. The cafe defined the lives of ourselves and so many of our staff to whom we are very, very grateful.
You’ll all be missed.

An interesting report out today claims that the quality of local high streets is still an important factor in people deciding where to live.

46% said having a vibrant local high street was important when choosing where to live.
27% would pay a premium if there is a great local high street nearby.
19% said the decline in their local high street was a factor in deciding to move.
