Chicken Bukhari Rice
An Iconic Silk Road dish popular in the Gulf States, draws its name from.the ancient city of Bukhara now in modern day Uzbekistan.
The raisins and carrots batons fried in ghee give it its unmistakable appearance whilst the simmered meat is finished in a hot oven, brushed with more Arabic Spice mix.
The final one-pot meal is a subtle blance of sweet-sour aromatic flavours.

Warwick Thai Festival

Tommorow sees the much awaited return of our Pad Krapow Wow! concept to Warwick Racecourse at the annual Warwick Thai Festival which we have been attending since 2010 when it was held in the Town Centre.
First established by Kun Monchai as a charity event to raise money for the 2004 Asian Tsunami it has grown into one of the most eagerly awaited events on the Thai Festival Circuit outside of the South East. Expect plenty of amazing Thai Street Food, the Ladyboy show hosted by and plenty of Thai Beer and entertainment.

Tuna Bicol Express
Bicol Express is a variety of 'Ginitaang' - dishes cooked in Coconut Milk, similar to Masak Lemaks of Indonesia and Malaysia.
The distinguishing taste of this variant from Bicol in the Visayas (Middle Kingdom) is the abundant use of shrimp paste and hot chilli which lends a hot and salty note, cutting through the richness of the Gata without the need of any tomatoes or lime juice.
Green Beans are often added instead of too many green chillis to give a nice contrast of colours.

Chicken Inasal
Testing new Filipino dishes for our Summer Fiestas. We paired a classic Inasal marinade with Spicy Pinakurat Sauce and thickened the roasting juices with cornstarch to produce our signature 'Inasal Gravy' which QE Hospital customers would be familiar with from our Boodle Bowls.
We are in Leamington Spa this Sunday with and back at QE on Wednesday 28th.

Chicken Inasal Set
As we gear up for the Summer Festival season we have been trying some Filipino Favourites that will debut first in Leicester and Loughborough Barrio Fiestas in May and June and then at the Birmingham Barrio Fiesta in July.
Our Chicken Inasal is already familiar to our QE customers where it appears in a slightly different form, however the traditional set needs only perfectly grilled Inasal, a bowl of Pinakurat and a side of Sweet-Sour Acara to accompany a bowl of rice annointed with Annatto Butter - often made by rendering chicken skins down with Annatto Seed to produce a vibrant orange 'Butter' to lubricate the rice.
We are back Bridgeford Street next Tuesday for the last market before the Easter break, then .elizabeth_aa on Wednesday.

UNIVERSITY OF BIRMINGHAM
Tomorrow, Tuesday 4th March 2025, we return to the Artisan Market Pop up, and we have plenty of treats in store!
Big Bowls Java Chicken, BBQ Chicken and Vegan Rendang, Laksa Palabok and Pad Thai On the Fly!
For those who are adherants of the Sultanates that proliferate throughout Nusantara and are fasting during daylight hours, we have the traditional Makanan Buka Puasa Dish ' Bubur Lambuk', so soothing and satisfying!
Kuih Malay will include Wajik Hitam, Kuih Lapis and Serimuka in 2 varieties.

New Dessert Alert!
Putli Mandi, Ube Muka Cake, Tausug Coconut Bibingka.
We debuted these 3 new kakanin last Saturday to rapturous applause.
We are at University of Manchester on Tuesday 16th for the first of the Spring Term.
Expect to see our usual Boodle Bowls, Char Kway Teow and new stalwart Laksa Palabok on the menu.
