We are an Oxford-based Community Interest Company addressing food insecurity and food waste. We use surplus ingredients to provide high quality food to the community. 🌱


Here’s how it works:


🍲 CATERING
· We provide high-quality catering services using only surplus ingredients.
· Choose from sandwiches, salads, grazing platters, Buddha bowls, canapés, cakes and more.
· We provide catering throughout Oxfordshire, all delivered by sustainable transport.


☕ CAFÉ
· Our warm and welcoming café serves a delicious seasonal menu alongside cakes and pastries.
· Food surplus is our main ingredient, with a ‘never waste anything’ approach.
· Located at Shotover View, Craufurd Rd, Oxford OX4 2SQ


👨‍🍳 FOOD EDUCATION
· We offer free cooking for health and wellbeing workshops
· Our teaching focuses on affordable, healthy meals with varied, easily attainable ingredients.


🍝 FREE MEALS
· We provide healthy, home-cooked meals for people experiencing food insecurity
· Come in and collect, or if you’re unable to come to us, we can deliver on Tuesday and Thursday by bike.

Always ready to help (even at 7am), always bringing her beautiful energy, skills, love and joy — supporting Waste2Taste in whatever way is needed. 🌱
Her kindness is precious, her smile is infectious, and honestly… we absolutely adore her! 🥰

Some of our customers are still having iced coffees while others have already switched to hot chocolates!

What about you? Are you ready for hot drinks and comfort food, or are you holding on to the last warm days before autumn sets in?

We are preparing a few new hot chocolate recipes, with syrups and whipped cream and marshmallows and sprinkles... And we've acquired some pumpkin spice ingredients and trialing pumpkin spice drinks ☕🥛🫖

Bookings are open for our next Skillshare Session!

This time we're making Misomaru: Miso balls, pre-prepped and ready to use by dissolving in hot water to make soups, glazes and marinades, sauces and dips, or to add some more flavour to your stir-frys.

The workshop will be led by Naoko Grayson, local Miso Sommelier and Misomaru Master, an Oxfordshire educator specialising in Japanese fermented foods.

The spaces are limited (only 10 available!) and bookings are essential, so don't wait and reserve your space by DMing us here or sending an email to [email protected]

The workshop will be on Friday 16 October, 10am-12pm, at the Waste2Taste community café on Craufurd road OX4 2SQ

Free to attend, open to all, and adapted to all levels of ability.

Throwback to this beautiful evening last July when we had the pleasure to cater for a rustic-themed wedding, offering a selection of our salads buffet-style, with bites, finger foods and dips placed on the tables.

Here's a long overdue and emotional video from our Director Sandra Ruge, to express our gratitude to all who have voted for us in the 2026 Ox in a Box Food Awards and made us Oxfordshire's Best Café of the year!

Sandra speaks for all of us while saying thank you to every single person who took time to vote, and to all of our partners, supporters, staff members, volunteers and customers. We wouldn't be here without your help.

Waste2Taste is a community effort. It's the manifestation of the love people have for each others, and their will to fight for a better society, whether it's in their local community or at a global level.

There is always hope, no matter how bleak things look, as long as we are ready to make even the smallest contribution towards a good fight: reducing the amount of waste we produce, eating in a sustainable manner, supporting our neighbours who are struggling.

For as long as we'll have all of you on our side, we'll be here working and fighting. This award is proof that you can deliver high quality food, service and community support.

FREE KIDS MEALS DURING THE WHOLE SUMMER BREAK!!

For the first time this year Waste2Taste is not going to close at all during the summer months, which means our Kids Eat Free offer will be available for the whole holiday period.

With a bigger, strong team we will all be able to take individual time off while keeping our community café open and welcoming families throughout the long vacation, and thanks to the 's funding awarded to us through the previous local councillor Ajaz Rehman we can cover this project for the whole 6 weeks.

We have, though, made the decision of closing the café on Fridays in August as half of the staff will be away, so here's our updated opening times:

JULY
Tuesday-Friday 9.30am-2.30pm
Free Kids Meals served 11.30am-2.30pm, starting July 21

AUGUST
Tuesday-Thursday 9.30am-2.30pm
Free Kids Meals served 11.30am-2.30pm, all month long

And remember: if the grown-ups need a free meal too, options are always available at Waste2Taste:

- the Kindness Menu: a pay-it-forward scheme where those who can afford it pay for a meal in advance for those who need it. Every meal/drink paid for in advance is added to the Kindness board as a token, which can be used at the till in exchange for anything on our menu.

- the Freezer of Love: nutritious and delicious meals cooked in our kitchen and frozen to take home for dinner. You can make a donation at the till (on a pay-as-you-can basis) or just help yourself for free if you're short on pennies

Our café is a community space open to all and welcoming everyone, and we love to see it filled with families and kids enjoying the play area corner during school breaks.
